Human tissue kallikrein 14 induces the expression of IL‐6, IL‐8, and CXCL1 in skin fibroblasts through protease‐activated receptor 1 signaling

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, Volume 292, Issue 21, Page 5659-5675, November 2025.
Human tissue kallikrein 14 (KLK14), a skin protease, may mediate paracrine signaling in wound healing. KLK14 released by epithelial cells activates fibroblasts via PAR‐1 activation, inducing IL‐6, IL‐8, and CXCL1 expression. These cytokines in turn promote keratinocyte proliferation and migration, resulting in wound closure.

Clenbuterol induces lean mass and muscle protein accretion, but attenuates cardiorespiratory fitness and desensitizes muscle β2‐adrenergic signalling

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 603, Issue 19, Page 5529-5545, October 1, 2025.
Abstract figure legend This randomized controlled study investigated the effect of a 2 week treatment cycle of either oral clenbuterol or placebo in healthy young men. We found that clenbuterol: (1) increased lean mass but (2) impaired maximal oxygen uptake (V̇O2max${\dot V_{{{\mathrm{O}}_{\mathrm{2}}}{\mathrm{max}}}}$) and incremental exercise ...

Cu─X Bonds Regulated Conduction and Polarization Loss in Conductive Metal‐Organic Framework Under Electromagnetic Field

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 33, September 4, 2025.
A ligand regulation strategy by modifying functional motifs (X = −NH2, −OH, and −SH) in triphenylene is pioneered and developed to afford Cu─X bonds, achieving a synergistic conduction and polarisation loss mechanism under an electromagnetic field for enhanced electromagnetic wave absorption. Abstract Conduction and polarization are known to profoundly

Compact 16-Port MIMO Antenna for Sub-6 GHz Communications

open access: yesIEEE Access
A 16-port multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) antenna for sub-6 GHz communication systems is presented in this paper. It is designed by arranging the eight dual polarized antenna elements in $2 \times 4$ array pattern.

Preliminary assessment of beetle diversity in a fragmented landscape of the Ecuadorian tropical dry forest

open access: yesRevista Peruana de Biología
Landscape alterations may affect beetle assemblages wherein sensitive species can disappear, and highly adapted species populations can increase. Beetle diversity in a restored forest and cropland was assessed in the tropical dry forest of Ecuador ...

Invisible Labor and the “Ghost Particle”: Underground Physics at the Kolar Gold Fields**

open access: yesBerichte zur Wissenschaftsgeschichte, Volume 48, Issue 1-2, Page 163-179, August 2025.
Abstract When cosmic rays—high‐energy particles from outer space—encounter the Earth's atmosphere, they produce particles called neutrinos. To detect them, physicists go underground inside deep mines where the overlying rock can filter out the cosmic‐ray background radiation.

Bringing Small Devices, Giving Design Advice: Introducing Radiation Protection Practices in Greece via the IAEA's Visiting Professor Program**

open access: yesBerichte zur Wissenschaftsgeschichte, Volume 48, Issue 1-2, Page 91-111, August 2025.
Abstract This paper examines how an International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) expert mission for technical assistance in the late 1950s to Greece was effectively transformed into a mission to achieve the IAEA′s central objective: to consolidate its position as the leading global authority on radiation protection. The study focuses on the work of Alfred
