Doelgroepen inventarisatie Nagoya Protocol

Quassia “biopiracy” case and the Nagoya Protocol: A researcher's perspective
Biopiracy accusations are common in the world of biodiversity research. At the end of 2015, a French NGO accused researchers from the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD) of biopiracy. These researchers had applied for a patent for a natural bioactive molecule against malaria and cancer, the Simalikalactone E, isolated from Quassia amara L.

The Nagoya Protocol – Justice in the Making?- Comment [PDF]
Ratification of the Nagoya Protocol seems to be a long drawn out process for many parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity, delaying the Protocol's entering into force.

Differential Proteomics of Large Extracellular Vesicles in Ovarian Cancer
ABSTRACT Diverse extracellular vesicles (EVs) are present in all body fluids; however, knowledge of large EVs (lEVs) remains limited. Molecular EV profiles vary depending on EV size and the physiological circulatory system, even within the same patient. In this study, we aimed to characterize the proteomic profile of IEVs in ovarian cancer patients and

A new application of emulsions to measure the gravitational force on antihydrogen
We propose to build and operate a detector based on the emulsion film technology for the measurement of the gravitational acceleration on antimatter, to be performed by the AEgIS experiment (AD6) at CERN. The goal of AEgIS is to test the weak equivalence

Capacity building needed to reap the benefits of access to biodiversity collections
Global conservation efforts increasingly depend on digitised natural history collections, yet the benefits of this digital data are not equally shared. We analysed biodiversity specimens and citation data from Montserrat and the Cayman Islands to assess who collected these specimens, how they are used, and by whom.

The Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and Benefit Sharing: What is New and What are the Implications for Provider and User Countries and the Scientific Community? [PDF]
In culmination of the efforts by the Conference of the Parties (COP) of the Convention on Biological Diversity (1992) to adopt an international regime to regulate access and benefit sharing, the Nagoya Protocol was adopted at the COP 10 in Aichi-Nagoya ...

Societal Impact Statement As herbaria digitize millions of plant specimens, ethnobotanical information associated with them is becoming increasingly accessible. These biocultural data include plant uses, names, and/or management practices of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPLCs).

Asymmetric Quantum Dialogue in Noisy Environment
A notion of asymmetric quantum dialogue (AQD) is introduced. Conventional protocols of quantum dialogue are essentially symmetric as both the users (Alice and Bob) can encode the same amount of classical information.
