The Nagoya Protocol could backfire on the Global South [PDF]
Regulations designed to prevent global inequalities in the use of genetic resources apply to both commercial and non-commercial research. Conflating the two may have unintended consequences for collaboration between the Global North and biodiverse countries in the Global South, which may promote global injustice rather than mitigate it.

Designing Asymmetric Memristive Behavior in Proton Mixed Conductors for Neuromorphic Applications
Protonic devices that couple ionic and electronic transport are demonstrated as bioinspired neuromorphic elements. The devices exhibit rubber‐like asymmetric memristive behavior with slow voltage‐driven conductance increase and rapid relaxation, enabling simplified read–write operation.

Access and allocation in global biodiversity governance: a review [PDF]
Access and allocation is one of the five analytical themes of the science plan of the Earth System Governance (ESG) project. Concerns over access and allocation are at the core of struggles and conflicts brought about by the often ineluctable trade-offs ...

Lipid Droplet‐Localized Spindle Apparatus Coiled‐Coil Protein 1 Regulates Lipid Droplet Distribution
SPDL1‐L, a long isoform of SPDL1, is identified as a bona fide lipid droplet‐associated protein that acts as a dynein adaptor to drive perinuclear clustering of lipid droplets. By linking lipid droplets to the microtubule network, SPDL1‐L extends the function of SPDL1 beyond mitosis and contributes to lipid droplet organization and nuclear remodeling ...
