The ingestion and assimilation of algae by Nais elinguis (Oligochaeta: Naididae)
Oecologia, 1985Nais elinguis was offered equal densities of three algal species under controlled conditions. Colonies of Scenedesmus quadricauda were ingested at significantly lower rates than cell of Nitzschia kutzingiana and Chlorella vulgaris. Labelled cells of N. kutzingiana were more rapidly and more efficiently assimilated than those of the other algae.

The cuticle and epidermal cells of Dero obtusa (family naididae)
Journal of Ultrastructure Research, 1968Electron microscope observations of the epidermis of the oligochaete Dero obtusa show that the epidermal cells are the source of one or more components of the cuticle. An outer mucous coat is secreted by the cells through long processes that penetrate the cuticle and eventually degenerate into sites of attachment for the mucous filaments.

Multi-locus phylogenetic analysis of the genus Limnodrilus (Annelida: Clitellata: Naididae)
Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution, 2017Limnodrilus species are annelid worms distributed worldwide in various freshwater sediments. The systematics of Limnodrilus has chiefly been based on morphology, but the genus has not been subject to any closer phylogenetic studies over the past two decades.

The Aquatic Oligochaeta (Aeolosomatidae, Opistocystidae, Naididae) of Central America
The Southwestern Naturalist, 1982Twenty species of aquatic oligochaetes are reported from Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Honduras. Species are in the families Aeolosomatidae, Opistocystidae, and Naididae. Setal measurements are cited for each species and compared with measurements from other parts of the range.

Hydrobiologia, 1996
About 50 species in more than 20 genera of the microdrile oligochaete families Tubificidae, Naididae, Opistocystidae, and Enchytraeidae and the freshwater megadrile families Sparganophilidae and Alluroididae were identified in recent collections made in Guyana. Only seven species in these families were previously recorded from Guyana.
