Enhancing Named Entity Recognition in Twitter Messages Using Entity Linking [PDF]
In this paper, we describe our approach for Named Entity Recognition in Twitter, a shared task for ACL 2015 Workshop on Noisy User-generated Text (Baldwin et al., 2015). Because of the noisy, short, and colloquial nature of Twitter, the performance of Named Entity Recognition (NER) degrades significantly.

Improving Named Entity Linking Corpora Quality
Gold standard corpora and competitive evaluations play a key role in benchmarking named entity linking (NEL) performance and driving the development of more sophisticated NEL systems. The quality of the used corpora and the used evaluation metrics are crucial in this process.

Learning Relatedness Measures for Entity Linking [PDF]
Entity Linking is the task of detecting, in text documents, relevant mentions to entities of a given knowledge base. To this end, entity-linking algorithms use several signals and features extracted from the input text or from the knowl- edge base.

Framing Named Entity Linking Error Types
Named Entity Linking (NEL) and relation extraction forms the backbone of Knowledge Base Population tasks. The recent rise of large open source Knowledge Bases and the continuous focus on improving NEL performance has led to the creation of automated benchmark solutions during the last decade.

Few-shot entity linking of food names
Entity linking (EL), the task of automatically matching mentions in text to concepts in a target knowledge base, remains under-explored when it comes to the food domain, despite its many potential applications, e.g., finding the nutritional value of ingredients in databases.
