Abstract In this research, micro-nano silica-silica nano-composite thin film was deposited on glass substrate by a sol-gel method. Then, the surface modification was performed by use of PFTS solution. The thin films were characterized by FTIR, EDS, FESEM, UV-Vis spectroscopy and water angle analyzer methods. Durability test was performed to check the

EFFECT OF NANO SILICA ON PROPERTIES OF CONCRETE
Full Text Book of Minar Congress 6, 2022This study presents experimentally the collective consequence of using nano silica (NS) on mechanical properties of tough concrete. NS is cast-off as partial cement substitution by 1,1.5,2 wt% . Mechanical properties of hardened concrete are assessed expending different mixtures between NS. Important enhancement in the mechanical properties of concrete

Combined effects of micro-silica and nano-silica on durability of mortar
Construction and Building Materials, 2017Abstract To investigate the combined effects of micro-silica (MS) and nano-silica (NS) on the durability of concrete, an experimental program was launched, in which mortar mixes representing mortar portions of concrete with various water, MS and NS contents but a constant workability were made for strength, sulphate attack, carbonation, rapid ...

Properties of nano silica modified rubbercrete
Journal of Cleaner Production, 2016Abstract Inclusion of crumb rubber from scrap tires in concrete as partial replacement to fine aggregate in production of rubbercrete has provided many beneficial impacts to both environments and concrete. Many properties of rubbercrete are improved compared with conventional concrete.

Nano-Macro Correlation of Nano-Silica Concrete
Concrete mixes using progressively finer size nano-silica particles (7–150nm) were prepared to study the effect of nano-size pozzolans (nano-silica). Conventional compression tests demonstrated progressively higher strength with finer size of the nano-silica down to 12nm particle size.Joan Schoepfer, Arup Maji

Preparation of Nano-silica and Nano-silicone
Scientific Journal of King Faisal University: Basic and Applied SciencesIn this research, silica and silicon were prepared using glass waste. The preparation process consisted of several stages that started with the collection of crushed glass samples, treating them physically (grinding and granular sorting) and mixing granulated crushed glass with NaOH at ratios of 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3.

Preparation of Silica Nano-Rods by CVD
Advanced Materials Research, 2008The straight silica nano-rods with a diameter of about 200nm and smooth surface were synthesized by chemical vapor deposition method at 1300°C. The as-synthesized samples were characterized by means of scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive x-ray, and transmission electron microscopy.

AbstractPoly(vinyl alcohol)/nano‐silica (PVA/nano‐SiO2) films were prepared through extrusion blowing with the addition of water and glycerin as plasticizer. The characteristic properties of PVA/nano‐SiO2films were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry, dynamic mechanical analysis, Haake torque rheometry, and atomic force microscopy (AFM ...

Saponin-Mediated Synthesis of Silica Nano-Reservoirs
Microporous and Mesoporous MaterialsMesoporous silica nanoparticles are synthesized by sol-gel route, using green porogen agent saponin. Two sets of nanoparticles are synthesized using different alkoxides, tetrapropyl orthosilicate (TPOS) and tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) in different reaction media. In each set, the amount of saponin has varied in the range 100-500 mg.
