Properties of nano silica modified rubbercrete

Journal of Cleaner Production, 2016
Abstract Inclusion of crumb rubber from scrap tires in concrete as partial replacement to fine aggregate in production of rubbercrete has provided many beneficial impacts to both environments and concrete. Many properties of rubbercrete are improved compared with conventional concrete.

Nano-structured silica from rice husk

Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 1992
The potential and limits of rice husk to become a competitive source of nano-structured silica were investigated. Husk samples were submitted to a chemical pre-treatment using celluclase enzyme, NaOH, HCl, or H 2 SO 4 solution. Subsequently, samples were incinerated at 600°C under static and flowing atmospheres (air, oxygen, or steam). The product was

Scale Inhibition using Nano-silica Particles

SPE Middle East Health, Safety, Security, and Environment Conference and Exhibition, 2012
Abstract Scale deposition in producing wellbores is a serious problem in the industry. The problem gets worse, when the scale is caused due to barium and strontium salts. These salts are difficult to clean as they are not easily soluble in any kinds of solution or chelating agents. In case of offshore operation, the scaling phenomenon is

Nano-silica reinforced epoxy resin/nano-rubber composite material with a balance of stiffness and toughness

, 2021
In the electronics and aerospace industries, epoxy resins are generally regarded as economical and efficient adhesives and have a high status. However, epoxy resins are highly crosslinked polymers and are very brittle adhesives where they are prone to ...

Properties of concrete incorporating nano-silica

Construction and Building Materials, 2012
Abstract This study investigated the effect of colloidal nano-silica on concrete incorporating single (ordinary cement) and binary (ordinary cement + Class F fly ash) binders. In addition to the mechanical properties, the experimental program included tests for adiabatic temperature, rapid chloride ion permeability, mercury intrusion porosimetry ...

Nano-Macro Correlation of Nano-Silica Concrete

Concrete mixes using progressively finer size nano-silica particles (7–150nm) were prepared to study the effect of nano-size pozzolans (nano-silica). Conventional compression tests demonstrated progressively higher strength with finer size of the nano-silica down to 12nm particle size.

Amorphous non-nano silica spheres

2022
Disclosed herein are methods of deriving silica from biological materials, compositions of such matter, articles of manufacture and amorphous silica spheres. Evidence demonstrates what is disclosed herein to be superior to the silica obtained from sand and other non-renewable sources of silica in personal care products, particularly cosmetics.

Nano-sensing with a Silica Microtoroid

CLEO:2011 - Laser Applications to Photonic Applications, 2011
We report nano-detection using a silica microtoroid with a reference interferometer. Single polystyrene nano-beads at a record 12.5nm radius are detected; Influenza-A virion binding events with signal-to-noise ratio exceeding 38:1 are observed.

Preparation of Nano-silica and Nano-silicone

Scientific Journal of King Faisal University: Basic and Applied Sciences
In this research, silica and silicon were prepared using glass waste. The preparation process consisted of several stages that started with the collection of crushed glass samples, treating them physically (grinding and granular sorting) and mixing granulated crushed glass with NaOH at ratios of 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3.
