Ethyl Vanillin Rapid Crystallization from Carboxymethyl Chitosan Ion-Switchable Hydrogels
Polymer gels are usually used for crystal growth as the recovered crystals have better properties. Fast crystallization under nanoscale confinement holds great benefits, especially in polymer microgels as its tunable microstructures.

Destabilization of the LiBH4–NaBH4 Eutectic Mixture through Pore Confinement for Hydrogen Storage
Both LiBH4 and NaBH4 are well known for having high hydrogen contents, but also high decomposition temperatures and slow hydrogen absorption–desorption kinetics, preventing their use for hydrogen storage applications. The low melting temperature (219 °C)

The Utility of Nanocomposites in Fire Retardancy [PDF]
Nanocomposites have been shown to significantly reduce the peak heat release rate, as measured by cone calorimetry, for many polymers but they typically have no effect on the oxygen index or the UL-94 classification. In this review, we will cover what is

Harnessing Phase Separation for the Development of High‐Performance Hydrogels
ABSTRACT Hydrogels are indispensable for the development of next‐generation bioelectronics, soft robotics, and biomedical devices, where their mechanical properties determine performance and reliability. Among strategies to enhance hydrogel mechanics, phase separation enables controlled heterogeneity resulting in gel networks that are reinforced by ...

Flows of Polymer Melts through Nanopores: Experiments and Modelling
The polymer melts flow behaviors through nanopores are investigated by using the nanoporous template wetting technique in our study. The experimental observation indicates that the meniscus rises according to a (time)1/2 law which agrees with the Lucas ...

Hydrophobicity and geometry: Water at curved graphitic-likesurfaces and within model pores in self-assembled monolayers [PDF]
In this work we perform molecular dynamics simulations of water in contact with simple modelhydrophobic surfaces and pores in order to test the role of local geometry on hydrophobicity.

Heterogeneity‐guided interlayer engineering is achieved by integrating porous MOF nanosheets into a 2D vermiculite laminate, reprogramming ion transport pathways. The resulting hybrid membranes combine sub‐nanoconfinement and charge heterogeneity, enabling accelerated Li+ transport and reinforced Mg2+ exclusion.

A Nanoscale Ternary Amide‐rGO Composite with Boosted Kinetics for Reversible H2 Storage
Metal amides are attractive candidates for hydrogen storage due to their high volumetric and gravimetric hydrogen densities. However, the sluggish kinetics and competing side reactions during hydrogen uptake and release limit their practical use. Here, a
