Thermoresponsive Gelatin Nanogels
ACS Macro Letters, 2014We present a novel tunable thermoresponsive gelatin nanogel that shows a volume transition at ∼32 °C. A thermally induced volume reduction of more than 30× is observed due to the helix to random coil transition of gelatin chains confined in the nanogels. The physical process and key factors influencing thermoresponsive properties are investigated using

Nanogels for regenerative medicine
Journal of Controlled Release, 2019Nanogels have been widely explored for drug delivery, but their applications in the tissue engineering field are still quite recent. Regenerative medicine also demands controlled delivery of growth factors and other active substances able to promote cell adhesion and guide cell differentiation and tissue formation.

Here, we synthesized dextrans modified with trivalent cationic or anionic groups. Aqueous solutions of the cationic and anionic dextrans were then mixed resulting in the formation of polyion complex nanogels (PIC-NGs), which have physically crosslinked salt bridges formed between the cationic and anionic groups.

Journal of Polymer Science Part A: Polymer Chemistry, 2013
ABSTRACTBiohybrid nanogels are crosslinked colloidal networks that consist of biological and synthetic polymers as building blocks. Such polymer colloidal particles attracted much attention in recent years mainly due to their outstanding properties and huge application potential that by far overcome classical nanogels or microgels prepared from water ...

Liposome-Enveloped Molecular Nanogels
Langmuir, 2019Novel hydrogel@liposome particles were prepared by pH-triggered molecular gel formation inside of liposomes loaded with a low-molecular weight gelator derived from l-valine (1). Liposome formation was carried out using l-α-phosphatidylcholine (PC) and cholesterol as components of the lipid bilayer.

Pulsating pH-Responsive Nanogels
The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2006A novel method is presented for the design of robust, sustained nanochemomechanical oscillators. The approach is based on the switching of chemoresponsive nanogel beads between their collapsed and swollen state by coupling them to an appropriately chosen nonlinear reaction.
