Increased efficiency of direct nanoimprinting on planar and curved bulk titanium through surface modification [PDF]
In this work the direct transfer of nanopatterns into titanium is demonstrated. The nanofeatures are imprinted at room temperature using diamond stamps in a single step.

Buckling‐resistant and trace‐stacked (BRATS) intracortical microelectrode arrays (MEAs) eliminate the need for insertion aid and complex surgical setup, resulting in minimal inflammatory tissue response, compared to conventional flexible MEAs inserted with aid. Trace stacking effectively doubled the channel count without increasing the MEA shank width,

Atomistic Studies of Nanoindentation—A Review of Recent Advances
This review covers areas where our understanding of the mechanisms underlying nanoindentation has been increased by atomistic studies of the nanoindentation process. While such studies have been performed now for more than 20 years, recent investigations

To investigate the mechanisms about the enhanced buffering effect and morphological retention in fully lithiated Sn–Bi alloys, this study introduces a new bulk bimetallic Sn–Bi alloy with fine grains of uniformly distributed Sn and Bi alloys (≈50 nm) via cooling rate control. This design effectively relieves internal energy buildup and suppresses crack

A nanostructured palladium membrane is developed for high‐temperature hydrogen separation, comprising isolated, thermally‐stable palladium plugs embedded within nanopores of a porous support. The membrane withstands high temperatures (1000 K for 100 h) without structural failure, demonstrating exceptional robustness over conventional metal membranes ...

A novel family of sodium hafnium chalcohalide SSEs is designed with dual‐anion frameworks. Compared to the halide SSEs, the mixed anion chalcohalide framework exhibits a more compact morphology, improved thermal and mechanical properties, and enhanced electrochemical performance with different cathode materials.

Direct imaging of short-range order and its impact on deformation in Ti-6Al. [PDF]
Chemical short-range order (SRO) within a nominally single-phase solid solution is known to affect the mechanical properties of alloys. While SRO has been indirectly related to deformation, direct observation of the SRO domain structure, and its effects ...
