Hybrid Liquid Metal Cathode Enables High‐Performance Intrinsically Stretchable OLEDs

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
We report a hybrid liquid metal (Hyb‐LM) cathode engineered via selective rupture of liquid metal particles (LMPs), forming a bilayer architecture with a surface liquid metal (LM) layer and underlying LMP layer, which has benefits of both LM and LMPs.

Bioinspired Microphase‐Engineered Binders for Silicon Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
Inspired by the tough exoskeleton of Phloeodes diabolicus, a bio‐based binder featuring LRA–click chemistry and hierarchical crosslinking forms well‐defined microphase‐separated structures that enable robust silicon anodes. This system promotes the formation of a LiF–rich, ultrathin SEI (∼17 nm) with high modulus and ionic conductivity, ensuring long ...

Nuclear Mechanotransduction Across the Metastatic Cascade: Decoding Spatiotemporal Heterogeneity in Cancer Dissemination

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
Tumor metastasis results from complex interactions between cancer cells and mechanical microenvironments. We propose a “nucleus‐centered, cross‐stage mechanical signal decoding” model, highlighting how nuclear mechanosensors interpret forces at different stages.

A proximodistal gradient in bone structure and mechanics in the wings of Seba's short‐tailed bat, Carollia perspicillata

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, Volume 309, Issue 5, Page 1422-1432, May 2026.
Abstract Bats possess the remarkable ability to fly, and with this, distinctive wing bone properties. We investigated the structural, mechanical, and compositional properties of the humerus, radius, metacarpals, and proximal and middle phalanges of Carollia perspicillata, an approximately 15 g fruit‐eating bat native to the Neotropics.

A Comparative Study of Uniaxial Flat‐Plate and Roller‐Based Calendering in Battery Electrode Manufacturing Using Discrete Element Modelling

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 9, Issue 5, May 2026.
Discrete element modelling is used to compare uniaxial flat‐plate compression and roller‐based calendering of battery electrodes. The microstructural evolution produced by both approaches is analysed, with a Froude‐number‐based scaling enabling efficient simulation of the roller process.

Two‐Dimensional Piezoelectric Nanomaterials for Nanoelectronics and Energy Harvesting

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, Volume 9, Issue 3, May 2026.
Two‐Dimensional Piezoelectric Nanomaterials from properties to applications. Smart materials, especially piezoelectric materials, have gained popularity over the last two decades. Two‐dimensional (2D) piezoelectric materials exhibit attributes including great flexibility, ease of workability, extensive surface area, and many active sites, indicating ...
