Nanocarbons represent useful scaffolds in the preparation of next-generation nanostructured catalysts, and their chemical functionalization through covalent or non-covalent modification is becoming an important tool to introduce anchor points, thus obtaining hybrid nanostructured materials with many applications in the area of chemical catalysis.

El presente artículo revisa algunas aplicaciones y fenómenos derivados de la interacción de los nanomateriales y la luz. Así, como ejemplos particulares se van a comentar la fotocatálisis, el efecto Tyndall y la resonancia de plasmón superficial. Se explican brevemente sus fundamentos y se recogen ejemplos divulgativos de sus usos.

Nuevos bio-nanomateriales para remediación ambiental
Abstract We report a simple eco-friendly biosynthesis process for formation of systematically optimized gold (AuNPs) and Pt nanoparticles. Gold NPs were synthesized from aqueous extracts from Coffea Arabica (CAS) and persea americana (Avocado) seeds, whereas for the synthesis of self-assembled Pt NPs only CAS was used.
