Nanomechanical properties of hafnium nitride coating
Scripta Materialia, 2008Nanomechanical properties of plasma-sprayed HfN coating with and without hot isostatic pressing (HIP) treatment were evaluated using nanoindentation. For HIPed HfN coating, the elastic modulus (E) and yield strength increase whereas the hardness (H), H/E ratio and fraction of the elastic work decrease.

Nanomechanical Properties of Cementitious Materials
2008Nanomechanical Properties of Cementitious Materials Paramita Mondal Although cementitious construction materials are mainly used in a large scale and in huge quantities, fundamental properties such as strength, ductility, creep, shrinkage, and fracture behavior depend, to a great extent, on structural elements and phenomena which are effective at the ...

Ultrastructure and nanomechanical properties of cementum dentin junction
Journal of Biomedical Materials Research Part A, 2003AbstractThe attachment between cementum and dentin has been given several definitions and nomenclature, including: interzonal layer, intermediate cementum, collagen hiatus, Hopewell‐Smith's hyaline layer, and more commonly, cementum–dentin junction (CDJ).

Nanomechanical properties of hierarchical structures
2009In this thesis bone and cartilage, as well as the interface between those two biological materials were investigated. An investigation of those two biological materials is interesting because of two reasons. On the one hand the obtained data can be added to a materials database, which then can be used as an inspiration for technical materials ...

Nanomechanical properties of boundary lubricating films
2006First the nanomechanical properties of ZnDTP antiwear tribofilms were measured by nanoindentation at ambient temperature. As the tribofilms are very thin, the elastic properties of the substrate influence the measurements. A simple model was used to extract the elastic modulus of the ZnDTP tribofilm from the composite measured modulus.
