VO2 nanophotonics [PDF]

open access: yesAPL Photonics, 2020
The intriguing physics of vanadium dioxide (VO2) makes it not only a fascinating object of study for fundamental research on solid-state physics but also an attractive means to actively modify the properties of integrated devices. In particular, the exceptionally large complex refractive index variation produced by the insulator-to-metal transition of ...

Diamond nanophotonics [PDF]

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Nanotechnology, 2012
We demonstrate the coupling of single color centers in diamond to plasmonic and dielectric photonic structures to realize novel nanophotonic devices. Nanometer spatial control in the creation of single color centers in diamond is achieved by implantation of nitrogen atoms through high-aspect-ratio channels in a mica mask.

A nanophotonic interferometer

open access: yesNanotechnology, 2023
Abstract The transmission of light through sub-wavelength apertures (zero-mode waveguides, ZMW) in metal films is well-explored. It introduces both an amplitude modulation as well as a phase shift to the oscillating electromagnetic field.

Hybrid nanophotonics [PDF]

open access: yesUspekhi Fizicheskih Nauk, 2017
Abstract Advances in the field of plasmonics, i.e., nano-photonics exploiting the optical properties of metal nanostructures, paved the way for the development of ultrasensitive devices, including biological and various other sensors whose operation is based on the nanoscale localization of the electromagnetic field.
