Programmable Activation of Quantum Emitters in High‐Purity Silicon with Focused Carbon Ion Beams

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, Volume 8, Issue 1, January 2025.
Here, a carbon source for focused ion beams is developed and utilized for the simultaneous creation of two types of quantum emitters in silicon, the W and G centers. Furthermore, a multi‐step implantation protocol is applied for the programmable activation of the G centers with a spatial resolution better than 250 nm. This approach provides a route for

Detecting Neutral Atoms on an Atom Chip [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Detecting single atoms (qubits) is a key requirement for implementing quantum information processing on an atom chip. The detector should ideally be integrated on the chip.

High‐resolution imaging of organic and inorganic nanoparticles at nanometre‐scale resolution by X‐ray ensemble diffraction microscopy

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, Volume 32, Issue 1, Page 217-224, January 2025.
X‐ray ensemble diffraction microscopy (XEDM) is an approach to enhance the signal‐to‐noise ratio in high‐frequency regions of scattering. This article presents direct imaging of 55 nm core–shell silica–gold nanoparticles at a 6.8 nm resolution and 19 nm nodavirus‐like‐particles in solution at a 2.6 nm resolution to demonstrate the high spatial ...

The Flexure-based Microgap Rheometer (FMR) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Submitted to J. Rheol. We describe the design and construction of a new microrheometer designed to facilitate the viscometric study of complex fluids with very small sample volumes (1-10 μl)and gaps of micrometer dimensions.

A low-steering piezo-driven mirror

open access: yes, 2018
We present a piezo-driven translatable mirror with excellent pointing stability, capable of driving at frequencies up to tens of kilohertz. Our system uses a tripod of piezo actuators with independently controllable drive voltages, where the ratios of ...

Heterodyne common-path grating interferometer with Littrow configuration [PDF]

open access: yes
[[abstract]]This paper presents a heterodyne common-path grating interferometer with Littrow configuration (HCGIL). The HCGIL can effectively overcome environmental disturbance effect and the DC offset and the amplitude variation of the measurement ...
