Self-Assembling Behavior of pH-Responsive Peptide A6K without End-Capping
A short self-assembly peptide A6K (H2N−AAAAAAK−OH) with unmodified N− and C−terminus was designed, and the charge distribution model of this short peptide at different pH was established by computer simulation.

Asymmetric Peptide Nanoribbons
Asymmetry in chemical structure or shape at molecular, nanoscale, or microscopic levels is essential to a vast number of functionalities in both natural and artificial systems. Bottom-up approaches to create asymmetric supramolecular nanostructures are considered promising but this strategy suffers from the potentially dynamic nature of noncovalent ...

Porphyrin-fused graphene nanoribbons
Abstract Graphene nanoribbons (GNRs), nanometre-wide strips of graphene, are promising materials for fabricating electronic devices. Many GNRs have been reported, yet no scalable strategies are known for synthesizing GNRs with metal atoms and heteroaromatic units at precisely defined positions in the conjugated ...

Mechanical properties of graphene nanoribbons [PDF]
Herein, we investigate the structural, electronic and mechanical properties of zigzag graphene nanoribbons upon the presence of stress applying Density Functional Theory within the GGA-PBE approximation. The uniaxial stress is applied along the periodic direction, allowing a unitary deformation in the range of +/- 0.02%.

High-Yield Growth and Tunable Morphology of Bi2Se3 Nanoribbons Synthesized on Thermally Dewetted Au
The yield and morphology (length, width, thickness) of stoichiometric Bi2Se3 nanoribbons grown by physical vapor deposition is studied as a function of the diameters and areal number density of the Au catalyst nanoparticles of mean diameters 8–150 nm ...

Nanoribbon Biosensor in the Detection of miRNAs Associated with Colorectal Cancer
A nanoribbon biosensor (NRBS) was developed to register synthetic DNAs that simulate and are analogous to miRNA-17-3p associated with colorectal cancer.

Graphite nanoribbons prepared by the graphitization of poly(4-phthalimide) nanoribbons
Abstract Highly crystalline polyphthalimide nanoribbons were prepared by the reaction-induced crystallization of oligomers during solution polymerization. Polymerization of 1-hexyl 4-aminophthalate and 2-hexyl 4-aminophthalate was carried out at 330 °C in alkyl naphthalene oil.

Graphene nanoribbon as an elastic damper [PDF]
Heterostructures composed of dissimilar two-dimensional nanomaterials can have nontrivial physical and mechanical properties promising for many applications. Interestingly, in some cases, it is possible to create heterostructures composed of weakly and strongly stretched domains with the same chemical composition, as it has been demonstrated for some ...

Charge transport in topological graphene nanoribbons and nanoribbon heterostructures
Although it is generally accepted that structural parameters like width, shape, and edge structure crucially affect the electronic characteristics of graphene nanoribbons (GNRs), the exact relationship between geometry and charge transport remains largely unexplored.
