Exploring hopfion stability and dynamics in ring-like structures

open access: yesResults in Physics
Using numerical simulations, we explore the static and dynamic response of hopfions to an external magnetic field in cylindrical and toroidal nanorings.

Large-scale production of ferromagnetic nanorings by a modified hole-mask colloidal lithography: Controlled creation of flux-closure vortex state

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2016
Large arrays of ferromagnetic nanorings are produced by a modified hole-mask colloidal lithography and ring dimension can be modulated to create flux-closed vortex, known as a dipole-free magnetic state with a low crosstalk arising from neighboring ...

Bioorthogonal Chemistry in Biomolecule Quantification: A Review of Reactions and Strategies

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 1, 2 January 2026.
This review summarizes the application of catalyst‐free bioorthogonal reactions: Staudinger ligation, strain promoted azide alkyne cycloaddition, inverse electron‐demand Diels–Alder, and 2‐cyanobenzothiazole cysteine condensation in the semi‐quantitative and quantitative analysis of biomolecules.

Boosting the Magnetic Response of a Composite Nanostructure in the Near‐Visible Region with a Fano Resonance

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
Optical simulations of composite plasmonic split‐ring resonators show that a magnetic response can be obtained at wavelengths near the visible regime. The response is further increased by extending the geometry and enabling a Fano resonance through the coupling of magnetic dipoles.

A tribute to Professor Dr Kai A. I. Zhang: pioneering advances in metal‐free polymeric photocatalysis

open access: yesPolymer International, Volume 75, Issue 1, Page 34-43, January 2026.
Polymeric photocatalysts have emerged as metal‐free materials with tunable structures. This review highlights the contributions of Professor Dr Kai A. I. Zhang in advancing polymer‐based photocatalysts. Abstract Polymeric photocatalysts have emerged as promising alternatives to traditional metal‐based catalysts due to their tunable properties, low cost

Silver Nanorings Fabricated by Glycerol-Based Cosolvent Polyol Method

open access: yesMicromachines, 2020
The urgent demand for transparent flexible electrodes applied in wide bandgap devices has promoted the development of new materials. Silver nanoring (AgNR), known as a special structure of silver nanowire (AgNW), exhibits attractive potential in the ...

Ordering, flexibility and frustration in arrays of porphyrin nanorings

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
The packing of spheres, disks and other simple shapes into arrays on surfaces is relevant to many problems across the physical sciences. Here the authors study the influence of flexibility and reduced symmetry on the packing of porphyrin nanorings which ...

Facile synthesis of water‐dispersible magnetite nanorings from surfactant‐free hematite nanorings

open access: yesMicro & Nano Letters, 2016
Surfactant‐free α‐Fe 2 O 3 nanorings (NRs) were directly converted into water‐dispersible Fe 3 O 4 NRs through a simple and straightforward approach.

Long-lived circulating currents in strongly correlated nanorings

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2019
We study the time-evolving currents flowing in an interacting ring-shaped nanostructure after a bias voltage has been switched on. The source-to-drain current exhibits the expected relaxation towards its quasistatic equilibrium value at a rate Γ_{0 ...

Magnetization states and switching in narrow-gapped ferromagnetic nanorings

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2012
We study permalloy nanorings that are lithographically fabricated with narrow gaps that break the rotational symmetry of the ring while retaining the vortex ground state, using both micromagnetic simulations and magnetic force microscopy (MFM).
