Au Octahedral Nanosponges: 3D Plasmonic Nanolenses for Near-Field Focusing.
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2023Here, we report the synthesis of three-dimensional plasmonic nanolenses for strong near-field focusing. The nanolens exhibits a distinctive structural arrangement composed of nanoporous sponge-like networks within their interior.

Semiconducting metal oxides are widely considered as the most promising platform for solid-state gas sensors. Due to enhanced responsiveness of conductance to surface effects in low dimensional nanostructures, various forms of nanostructured metal oxides have been synthesized and their sensing properties studied.

Soluble Intramolecularly Hypercrosslinked Nanosponges
2011Publisher Summary This chapter introduces a novel macromolecular species, the intramolecularly hypercrosslinked polystyrene (IHPS) or “nanosponge” that differs fundamentally from the four basic types: (1) globular macromolecules, (2) rigid rod-like molecules, (3) flexible and voluminous coils, (4) highly branched (hyperbranched) macromolecules with ...

Multifunctional Drug Delivery System: Nanosponges
Recent Patents on NanotechnologyIn recent years, nanotechnology has been the focus of study for the cure of different diseases, among which nanosponge delivery system is one of a kind. Nano sponges are tiny, highly porous, three-dimensional nanostructures with a size range of 250 nm-1 μm in an amorphous or crystalline structure.

Nanosponges for hydrogen storage
Journal of Materials Chemistry, 2012Hydrogen storage by physisorption is a very promising technique due to its fast kinetics and full reversibility. The key to reach high storage capacities is high specific surface area. Extremely large surface areas can only be achieved by materials with high porosity, i.e., nanosponges like MOF-177 (4239 m2 g−1) and DUT-23(Co) (4850 m2 g−1).

Cyclodextrin-based nanosponges: A critical review
Carbohydrate Polymers, 2017Cyclodextrin-based nanosponges (CD-NS) are innovative cross-linked cyclodextrin polymers nanostructured within three-dimensional network. CD-NS are highly porous nanoparticles characterized by crystalline or amorphous structure, spherical shape and swelling properties. Different cross-linkers provide variety of nanosponges.

Nanosponge formulations as oxygen delivery systems
International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2010Three types of cyclodextrin nanosponges were synthetized cross-linking α, β or γ cyclodextrin with carbonyldiimidazole as cross-linker. Nanosponges are solid nanoparticles previously used as drug carriers. In this studies cyclodextrin nanosponges were developed as oxygen delivery system.
