Electrochemical corrosion behaviour of nanostructured bainitic steel

open access: yes, 2014
Nanostructured bainitic steels are gaining high interest due to their excellent mechanical properties. However, high carbon content in nanostructured bainitic steels can influence their general and localized corrosion susceptibility. In this study, the corrosion behaviour of nanostructured bainitic steel was compared with the well-known martensitic ...

Nanostructured bainite as an alternative to fine pearlite?

open access: yes, 2013
Seminar held in Bruges on October 15, 2013. Three strengthening mechanisms identified as playing a major role on strength: Boundary strengthening, which increases with decreasing spacing between the cementite lamellae. Solid solution hardening, which increases with the carbon concentration in the ferrite lamellae.
