Structural strength and corrosion resistance of nanostructured steel 10

open access: yesSteel in Translation, 2014
The ultrafine-grain steel 10 obtained by equal-channel angular pressing at 200°C is investigated. The structural strength of the steel samples is analyzed, with tensile tests and assessment of the impact strength and crack resistance. The strength of steel increases by a factor of 2.5 after equal-channel angular pressing.

Testing the Insecticidal Activity of Nanostructured Alumina on Sitophilus oryzae (L.) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) Under Laboratory Conditions Using Galvanized Steel Containers

open access: yesInsects, 2018
Most stored-grain pest insects increase their population within a relatively short time, causing serious damage to stored products. Sitophilus oryzae (L.) is one of the world’s major stored-grain pest insects and was chosen as the model insect for ...

Femtosecond‐Laser Mould Texturing Enables Tunable Biointerfaces in COC Microfluidics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Femtosecond‐laser texturing of injection‐mould inserts enables scalable engineering of biointerfaces in cyclic olefin copolymer microfluidics. Replicated micro‐ and nano‐topographies modulate surface roughness and wettability, leading to texture‐dependent protein adsorption and cell adhesion without chemical post‐processing.

Nanostructured Coatings Approach for Corrosion Protection of Building Steels [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Corrosion of steel reinforcement is a persistent durability concern for concrete structures, since conventional coatings often fail to provide lasting protection due to poor adhesion and insufficient barriers in harsh environments.
