Continuum modeling for lithium storage inside nanotubes
Lithium storage and capture are of particular importance for the development of new technology in electric vehicles and portable electronics. Nanotubes (NTs) are among many porous nanomaterials offered as potential candidates for lithium storage. In this

Variable and reversible quantum structures on a single carbon nanotube [PDF]
The band gap of a semiconducting single wall carbon nanotube decreases and eventually vanishes leading to metalization as a result of increasing radial deformation.

Carbon nanotube composites for thermal management [PDF]
Single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) were used to augment the thermal transport properties of industrial epoxy. Samples loaded with 1 wt % unpurified SWNT material showed a 70% increase in thermal conductivity at 40 K, rising to 125% at room temperature;

Harnessing Outer Space for Improved Electrocaloric Cooling
A novel radiative heat sink/source‐integrated electrocaloric (R‐iEC) system combines the electrocaloric (EC) effect with a thermally conductive radiative cooler (TCRC) to address heat dissipation limitations in EC devices. Utilizing outer space as a heat sink, the system achieves up to 240 W m−2 of heat dissipation performance, making it highly ...

High-Pressure Laser Reactive Synthesis Within Diamond Anvil Cells of Carbon Allotropes from Methanol
This work targets a knowledge gap in the high-pressure decomposition of methanol, complementing prior moderate-pressure diamond anvil studies below 4 GPa and hyperbaric-pressure laser chemical vapour deposition (HP-LCVD) experiments below 0.01 GPa ...

Transport in coupled graphene-nanotube quantum devices
We report on the fabrication and characterization of all-carbon hybrid quantum devices based on graphene and single-walled carbon nanotubes. We discuss both, carbon nanotube quantum dot devices with graphene charge detectors and nanotube quantum dots ...

High-frequency nanotube mechanical resonators [PDF]
We report on a simple method to fabricate high-frequency nanotube mechanical resonators reproducibly. We measure resonance frequencies as high as 4.2 GHz for the fundamental eigenmode and 11 GHz for higher order eigenmodes.

Active Thermal Field Integration for Marangoni‐Driven Salt Rejection and Water Collection
A thermal gradient fabric (TGF) evaporator with an auxiliary active thermal field can simultaneously increase evaporation rates and achieve long‐term salt rejection. The auxiliary active thermal field is well integrated with solar energy to construct moderate, extensive, and circulating Marangoni flow for salt rejection.
