Rational design of nanowire solar cells: from single nanowire to nanowire arrays
Nanotechnology, 2019Abstract In this review, we report several rational designs of nanowire-based solar cells from single nanowire to nanowire arrays. Two methods of nanowires fabrication: via ‘top-down’ and ‘bottom-up’, and two types of configurations including axial and radial junction are presented for nanowire-based solar cells. To enhance absorption,

We experimentally demonstrate the directional emission of polarized light from single semiconductor nanowires. The directionality of this emission has been directly determined with Fourier microphotoluminescence measurements of vertically oriented InP nanowires.

Abstract The present chapter develops the theory of interband, intersubband, and excitonic optical processes for semiconductor QWRs, in the same line as in earlier two chapters. The simple rectangular structure and analytical methods are considered first, followed by semi-analytical theories for practical structures.

Semiconductor Nanowires and Nanowire Heterostructures for Supercapacitors
International Photonics and Optoelectronics Meetings (POEM), 2013High-performance supercapacitor electrodes based on semiconductor nanowires (TiN, and TiO2) and nanowire heterostructures (e.g., TiO2/MnO2 and TiO2/C core-shell nanowires) have been developed.

This chapter provides a brief overview of mechanisms that influence the localization and the energy levels of carriers in Nanowires (NWs). It aims compare these mechanisms to those that occur in planar layers or quantum dots and discusses specific features of NWs.
