Superconducting Vortices induced Periodic Magnetoresistance Oscillations in Single Crystal Au Nanowires

open access: yes, 2011
We show in this paper that it is possible to induce superconducting vortices in a gold nanowire connected to superconducting electrodes. The gold nanowire acquires superconductivity by the proximity effect.

Hybrid Superconductor-Quantum Point Contact Devices using InSb Nanowires [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Proposals for studying topological superconductivity and Majorana bound states in nanowires proximity coupled to superconductors require that transport in the nanowire is ballistic.

Current Collapse-Free and Self-Heating Performances in Normally Off GaN Nanowire GAA-MOSFETs

open access: yesIEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society, 2018
Normally off lateral GaN nanowire gate-all-around MOSFETs have been fabricated on the GaN-on-insulator substrate. The dynamic measurement proved that the devices with various nanowire heights exhibit current collapse-free characteristics implying that ...

Tailoring the Geometry of Bottom-Up Nanowires: Application to High Efficiency Single Photon Sources

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2021
For nanowire-based sources of non-classical light, the rate at which photons are generated and the ability to efficiently collect them are determined by the nanowire geometry.

Polariton Bose-Einstein condensate at room temperature in a Al(Ga)N nanowire-dielectric microcavity with a spatial potential trap

open access: yes, 2012
A spatial potential trap is formed in a 6.0 {\mu}m Al(Ga)N nanowire by varying the Al composition along its length during epitaxial growth. The polariton emission characteristics of a dielectric microcavity with the single nanowire embedded in-plane has ...

3D Simple Monte Carlo Statistical Model for GaAs Nanowire Single Photon Avalanche Diode

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2020
GaAs based nanowire single photon avalanche diode (SPAD) has been demonstrated with extremely small afterpulsing probability and low dark count rate, and hence it has attracted wide attention for the near infrared applications.

Cooling of suspended nanostructures with tunnel junctions

open access: yes, 2009
We have investigated electronic cooling of suspended nanowires with SINIS tunnel junction coolers. The suspended samples consist of a free standing nanowire suspended by four narrow ($\sim$ 200 nm) bridges.

Effect of the Blade-Coating Conditions on the Electrical and Optical Properties of Transparent Ag Nanowire Electrodes

open access: yesMicromachines, 2022
Optimizing the coating conditions for a doctor blading system is important when seeking to improve the performance of Ag nanowire electrodes. In this study, the effect of the blading height and speed on the optical and electrical properties of Ag ...

Single-crystal silver nanowires: Preparation and Surface-enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) property

open access: yes, 2011
Ordered Ag nanowire arrays with high aspect ratio and high density self-supporting Ag nanowire patterns were successfully prepared using potentiostatic electrodeposition within the confined nanochannels of a commercial porous anodic aluminium oxide (AAO)

Oleylamine-Mediated Hydrothermal Growth of Millimeter-Long Cu Nanowires and Their Electrocatalytic Activity for Reduction of Nitrate

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2018
While high-aspect-ratio metal nanowires are essential for producing nanowire-based electrodes of good performance used in electronics and electrocatalysis, the synthesis of millimeter-long Cu nanowires remains a challenge.
