Effect of natural antioxidants on bond strength recovery of resin‐modified glass ionomers to the NaOCl‐affected pulp chamber dentin

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Dental Research, 2023
Objective This study evaluated the effect of two natural antioxidants on the compromised bond strength of a resin‐modified glass ionomer (RMGI) to the sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl)‐affected pulp chamber dentin.

Effects of Thymus vulgaris Oil on Sodium Hypochlorite-Induced Damage in Rats

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
We aimed to determine the potential damage mechanisms of exposure to widely used sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) and the effects of Thymus vulgaris on this exposure. Rats were divided into six groups: control, T. vulgaris, 4% NaOCl, 4% NaOCl + T.

Characterization of new membrane materials by means of fouling experiments Adsorption of bsa on polyetherimide-polyvinylpyrrolidone membranes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
The hydrophilicity of polyetherimide-polyvinylpyrrolidone (PEI-PVP) microfiltration membranes can be adjusted by means of a suitable post-treatment. The influence of the nature of the membrane surface on fouling properties was studied using permeation ...

Methods for increasing the efficiency of NaOCl

open access: yesИзвестия на Съюза на учените – Варна Серия „Медицина и екология”, 2022
Sodium hypochlorite has a strong antibacterial effect and the ability to dissolve organic substances. It cannot remove the smear layer formed on the walls of the canal after mechanical preparation. The main disadvantages of this irrigant are its cytotoxicity, unpleasant smell and taste, and the ability to cause corrosion on metallic objects.

Effects of NaOCl or combination of NaOCl and various acids on dentin surface morphology: A SEM study [PDF]

open access: yesBalkan Journal of Dental Medicine, 2014
The aim of this study was to evaluate by SEM morphological changes of dentin surfaces under the use of 5% NaOCl before applying different acids for etching. In the study, dentin surfaces were prepared from the middle third of 20 non-carious human third molars. Samples were divided into 2 groups with 3 subgroups each.
