Rearrangements of Cycloalkenyl Aryl Ethers

open access: yesMolecules, 2016
Rearrangement reactions of cycloalkenyl phenol and naphthyl ethers and the acid-catalyzed cyclization of the resulting product were investigated. Claisen rearrangement afforded 2-substituted phenol and naphthol derivatives.

Identification and quantification of carbamate pesticides in dried lime tree flowers by means of excitation-emission molecular fluorescence and parallel factor analysis when quenching effect exists [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A non-separative, fast and inexpensive spectrofluorimetric method based on the second order calibration of excitation-emission fluorescence matrices (EEMs) was proposed for the determination of carbaryl, carbendazim and 1-naphthol in dried lime tree ...

Red era: Dyeing yak hair fibres red with in situ generated silver nanoparticles using silver nitrate and a flavonoid‐containing plant extract

open access: yesColoration Technology, EarlyView.
Abstract Plants and their extracts have been used for dyeing fabrics, skin and hair for thousands of years and have been experiencing a revival in the last years due to increasing health risks arising from oxidative hair dye precursors. We developed a novel two‐step method to dye keratin fibres based on in situ formed silver nanoparticles including a ...

A micromethod for the determination of arginine [PDF]

open access: yes, 1941
Micromethods for the determination of arginine based on the use of the Sakaguchi reagent have been described (14). This reagent gives a strong color with glycocyamine, arginine, and other monosubstituted guanidine derivatives.

First Description and Characterisation of Lactococcus garvieae Strains Causing Septicaemic Disease in Farmed Sea Bass (Dicentrarchus labrax; Linnaeus) in Spain

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study presents the first description and characterisation of Lactococcus garvieae isolated from diseased European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) farmed in Spain. During autumn 2023, two fish farms were affected by infectious outbreaks causing moderate cumulative fish mortality (5%–10%). Diseased fish showed clinical signs of haemorrhagic

Chiral separation by SMB chromatography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The paper deals with chiral separation by simulated moving bed (SMB) chromatography. A model for the prediction of the cyclic steady-state performance of the SMB, based on the analogy with the true moving bed (TMB), is developed assuming multicomponent ...

Mapping the murine TMJ glenoid fossa over development, homeostasis and in response to disease

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
The fibrocartilage of the murine glenoid fossa and condyle of the temporomandibular joint are shown to form at distinct times with distinct molecular identities. Changes in the condyle during disease lead to remodelling of the fossa to maintain joint alignment.
