Excited state properties of 1-naphthol and its sulphonates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The transient absorption spectrum of 1-naphthol was first sought by flash photolysis at higher acidities than had been previously investigated. While no transient absorption was observed for l-naphthol itself, strong transient absorptions were observed ...

Synergistic Regulation of Hierarchical Anode Interphase and Cathode Electronic Structure by a Fe(III) Complex for High‐Performance Aqueous Zinc‐Manganese Battery

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
The NGB additive can concurrently address anode and cathode issues during Zn‐Mn battery cycling by constructing a hierarchical interfacial layer on the anode surface to alleviate side reactions and modulate zinc deposition and by incorporating Fe3+ ions into the α‐MnO2 cathode to improve its structural stability and electrical conductivity.

Natural Anthraquinone‐Like Compound Extracted from Green Husk of Walnut Improves Photocatalytic H2O2 Production Catalyzed by TiO2 Nanoparticles

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
In this work, a novel biomolecule/semiconductor hybrid catalyst was prepared by loading anthraquinone‐liked juglone onto anatase TiO2. This catalyst exhibited high photocatalytic activity for H2O2 production. Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is a vital oxidant with broad industrial applications, and its production via photocatalysis represents a highly ...

Accurate dissociation energies of two isomers of the 1-naphthol⋅cyclopropane complex [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The 1-naphthol⋅cyclopropane intermolecular complex is formed in a supersonic jet and investigated by resonant two-photon ionization (R2PI) spectroscopy, UV holeburning, and stimulated emission pumping (SEP)-R2PI spectroscopy. Two very different structure

Anion‐Receptive Triazine‐Centered Azobenzene Trimers

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Triazine‐centered azobenzene trimers combine visible‐light switching and anion‐responsive charge‐transfer absorption in a single C3‐symmetric platform, establishing triazine scaffolds as versatile, multistimuli photoswitches for adaptive molecular and supramolecular materials.

From Molecules to Materials: The Role of Halogen Bonds in Electron Donor–Acceptor Complex Mediated Organic Synthesis

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
This Concept highlights recent advances in organic synthesis based on electron donor–acceptor (EDA) complex photochemistry, with emphasis on halogen bonding. Halides play a dual role as key components of this noncovalent interaction, and as reactivity‐enabling leaving groups.

Accurate hydrogen-bonding energies between 1-naphthol and water, methanol and ammonia [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Accurate hydrogen-bond dissociation energies were determined for gas-phase hydrogen-bonded complexes between 1-naphthol or 1-naphthol-d3 and H2O, CH3OH, NH3 and ND3, using the stimulated emission pumping-resonant two-photon ionization spectroscopy ...

Optimisation of Electrokinetic Extraction System: Colourimetric Determination of Copper (II) in Sand Using Polymer Inclusion Membrane

open access: yesELECTROPHORESIS, EarlyView.
Electrokinetic extraction (EKE) allows the direct transfer of heavy metals from soli samples, such as soil and sediment, into a polymer inclusion membrane (PIM) with a colourimetric detection. This avoids length and complex sampling handling and extraction processes.
