Carbamate‐Directed peri‐CH Alkynylation: Application to the Synthesis of Zethrenes and Pyranthrenes

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 4, Issue 5, May 2026.
The Rh(III)‐catalyzed regioselective alkynylation of 1‐pyrenyl and 1‐naphthyl carbamates with bromoacetylenes enables the selective installation of an alkyne at the peri position of readily accessible amino‐substituted polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs).

Cavity‐Confined Indium Single‐Atom Catalysts Enable Localized Electron Enrichment for Highly Efficient and Selective Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Single‐atom catalysts are attractive for CO2 photoreduction due to their maximized atomic utilization and tunable electronic structures. In this study, indium (In) single atoms were incorporated into graphitic carbon nitride (CN) through an impregnation‐assisted thermal polycondensation strategy.

Intercepting Photogenerated Aminyl Radicals at Metal‐Halide Perovskite Microcrystals to Forge C─N Bonds With Non‐Preactivated Substrates

open access: yesSmall Science, Volume 6, Issue 5, May 2026.
Visible‐light‐excited CsPbBr3 perovskite microcrystals enable selective C─N bond formation from non‐preactivated aromatic amines via controlled generation of complementary aminyl and aminium radicals at the catalyst surface. Radical interplay governs reactivity, allowing efficient homo‐ and hetero‐cross‐dehydrogenative coupling under mild aerobic ...

The Arsenal of Aromatic Degrading Bacteria: How They Sense, Chase, Adapt and Destroy Environmental Pollutants

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 19, Issue 5, May 2026.
In the environment, bacteria sense aromatic pollutants, migrate toward them, adapt to toxicity, and deploy specialized uptake and catabolic systems. Genomic plasticity, metabolic versatility and division of labor within populations together aid in the degradation of persistent aromatics, highlights that biodegradation is driven by various eco ...

First Description and Characterisation of Lactococcus garvieae Strains Causing Septicaemic Disease in Farmed Sea Bass (Dicentrarchus labrax; Linnaeus) in Spain

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, Volume 49, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT This study presents the first description and characterisation of Lactococcus garvieae isolated from diseased European sea bass (Dicentrarchus labrax) farmed in Spain. During autumn 2023, two fish farms were affected by infectious outbreaks causing moderate cumulative fish mortality (5%–10%). Diseased fish showed clinical signs of haemorrhagic

Reaction Chemistry of Silver(I) Trifluoromethanesulfonate Complexes of Nitrogen-Confused \u3cem\u3eC\u3c/em\u3e-Scorpionates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Two new C-scorpionate ligands with a bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)methyl group bound to the 3 position of either an N-tosyl (TsL*) or an N–H pyrazole (HL*) ring have been prepared.

Defined Microbiota Modulates Host Metabolome and Skeletal Adaptation to Diet‐Induced Obesity

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 8, 30 April 2026.
Germ‐free mice exposed to high‐fat diet accumulate circulating bone‐relevant metabolites but fail to undergo adaptive skeletal remodeling. In contrast, mice colonized with a defined Oligo‐MM12 microbiota display altered systemic metabolite profiles associated with appropriate trabecular and cortical bone adaptation.

Phosphomolybdic Acid Nanoclusters Dispersed in the Micropores of ZrO2-Pillared Clay as an Efficient Catalyst for Synthesis of some Biologically Important Molecules [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Phosphomolybdic acid dispersed in the micropores of sulphate treated Zr-pillared clay (PMA-SZr-P) was prepared by wet impregnation method. The sulphate treated Zr-pillared clay (SZr-P) was prepared by incorporation of zirconium oxyhydroxy clusters into ...
