Role of polyphenols in antioxidant capacity of napiergrass from different growing seasons

Food Chemistry, 2008
Napiergrass, used in Taiwan as a new organic nourishment, showed fluctuating antioxidant capacities under different growth conditions. An index for selection of best quality material is therefore needed. Since polyphenols made the highest contribution to their antioxidant capacity, the individual effects of plant parts, growing seasons, and growth ...

The effects of wet sorghum distillers' grains inclusion on napiergrass silage quality

Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 2000
This paper studies different amounts of wet sorghum distillers' grain (WSDG) for inclusion in napiergrass silage for silage fermentation. Napiergrass was harvested, chopped and mixed in four different ratios with WSDG. The ratio of WSDG to napiergrass on a dry matter basis was 0, 20, 40 and 60% respectively in four different dietary treatments.

Low-cost additive improved silage quality and anaerobic digestion performance of napiergrass

Bioresource Technology, 2014
Effects of molasses-alcoholic wastewater on the ensiling quality of napiergrass were investigated at ambient temperature, and its anaerobic digestion performance was assessed at mesophilic temperature. Results showed that the molasses-alcoholic wastewater had positive effect on silage quality and anaerobic digestion performance. Lower pH values of 5.20-
