<p><span>Myth and legend are often treated as cultural byproducts or branding garnish. This paper argues instead that they function as an organizational technology: a high-leverage mechanism for legitimacy production and coordination under conditions of rapid scaling, institutional weakness, and informational overload.

The Battle of Leipzig was one of the most important confrontations of the Napoleonic period. The defeat of Napoleon led to the end of imperial rule. Yet in France, Leipzig has remained largely overshadowed by the battle of Waterloo and is rarely mentioned as a definitive failure of the great man.
