Reconstructing the major skull myology of the giant stem‐amphibian Mastodonsaurus: A case study for early tetrapods

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
We reconstruct the major cranial musculature of the giant stem amphibian Mastodonsaurus giganteus, revealing a differentiated jaw‐adductor system, a probable sesamoid pulley, and previously unrecognised muscles. This EPB‐based case study establishes an anatomical framework for modelling feeding in early tetrapods and supports interpretations of ...

Effects of Clenching Intensity and Duration on Pressure Pain Threshold and Masseter‐Muscle Stiffness Under Standardised EMG‐Based Contraction Exposure

open access: yesJournal of Oral Rehabilitation, EarlyView.
Under equivalent prescribed EMG‐based contraction exposure, pressure pain threshold was modestly but significantly lower immediately after low‐intensity, long‐duration clenching than after high‐intensity, short‐duration clenching, whereas the latter induced a transient reduction in masseter‐muscle stiffness.

Influence of virtual facebow designs on the accuracy of face scan‐based virtual facebow records

open access: yesJournal of Prosthodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To evaluate the accuracy of static maxillary‐facial spatial registration obtained using different virtual facebow (VF) fork designs and two facial scanning systems. Accuracy was assessed in terms of trueness and precision of linear deviations at three maxillary point references and angular deviation of the occlusal plane.

Harnessing the Therapeutic Potential of Cell Secretomes and Extracellular Vesicles for Craniofacial Regenerative Applications

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
The scoping review summarizes the current preclinical and clinical evidence for the use of “cell‐free” therapies in craniofacial (periodontal, bone and soft‐tissue) regeneration. It also aims to highlight key challenges and strategies towards the clinical translation of these therapies.

Autogenous Demineralized Dentin Graft–Based Strategies With or Without I‐PRF and Metronidazole for Ridge Preservation in Infected Sockets: A Randomized Clinical Trial

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
This randomized controlled trial evaluated the efficacy of demineralized dentin graft (DDG) combined with injectable platelet‐rich fibrin (I‐PRF) and metronidazole (MTZ) versus DDG with or without I‐PRF in alveolar ridge preservation (ARP) of infected extraction sockets.

Periodontal Medicine Rewired: Mechanisms Linking Periodontitis to Systemic Diseases

open access: yesJournal of Periodontal Research, EarlyView.
