Bi‐Level Coordination of Demand Response and Multiple Virtual Power Plants in a Distribution Network for Flexibility Assessment

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study presents a hierarchical coordination framework where multiple VPPs interact with the DSO to optimize energy trades and flexibility offers. Each VPP aggregates DERs and DR, performing internal optimization, day‐ahead bidding, and assessing flexibility to reduce excess renewable generation and pollution.

Key soil health indicators under humid grazing lands

open access: yesGrassland Research, EarlyView.
Soil health can be described using a few key soil health indicators that target a diversity of soil functions. This perspective article highlights how forage management affects these soil health indicators in humid‐zone grazing lands. Abstract Background Soil health describes critical soil functions influenced by land management. Although some key soil

Viability assessment and transplantation of fatty liver grafts using end‐ischemic normothermic machine perfusion

open access: yesLiver Transplantation, EarlyView., 2022
Abstract End‐ischemic viability testing by normothermic machine perfusion (NMP) represents an effective strategy to recover liver grafts having initially been discarded for liver transplantation (LT). However, its results in the setting of significant (≥30%) macrovesicular steatosis (MaS) have not been specifically assessed.

Super‐Nash Performance [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Economic Review
ABSTRACTIn this paper, I introduce a novel benchmark in games, super‐Nash performance, and a solution concept, optimin, whereby players maximize their minimal payoff under unilateral profitable deviations by other players. Optimin achieves super‐Nash performance in that, for every Nash equilibrium, there exists an optimin where each player not only ...

What Price Compromise? Testing a Possibly Surprising Implication of Nash Bargaining Theory [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper identifies, and tests experimentally, a prediction of Nash Bargaining Theory that may appear counterintuitive. The context is a simple bargaining problem in which two players have to agree a choice from three alternatives.

Dissociable contributions of the amygdala and ventral hippocampus to stress-induced changes in defensive behavior

open access: yesCell Reports
Summary: Stress can have profound consequences on mental health. While much is known about the neural circuits supporting associative memories of stressful events, our understanding of the circuits underlying the non-associative impacts of stress, such ...

A Fictitious-Play Model of Bargaining To Implement the Nash Solution [PDF]

open access: yes
We present a fictitious-play model of bargaining, where two bargainers play the Nash demand game repeatedly. The bargainers make a deliberate decision on their demands in the initial period and then follow a fictitious play process subsequently.

The hippocampus dissociates present from past and future goals

open access: yesNature Communications
Our brain adeptly navigates goals across time frames, distinguishing between urgent needs and those of the past or future. The hippocampus is a region known for supporting mental time travel and organizing information along its longitudinal axis ...
