Heritage of Tethyan Oceanic Transform Faults Within Alpine Orogens: Paleomagnetic Evidence From the Shkoder‐Peja Transverse Zone (Northern Albania)

open access: yesTectonics, Volume 44, Issue 6, June 2025.
Abstract The Shkoder‐Peja transverse zone (SPTZ) of Northern Albania marks the boundary between the Dinarides and Albano‐Hellenides and is marked by a ∼100 km SW‐ward shift of the ophiolitic nappe front. The SPTZ has been variably interpreted as a paleogeographic inheritance, a dextral strike‐slip fault, the hinge of the clockwise (CW) rotating Albano ...

History and prospects of Nagashima‐type palmoplantar keratosis, the most common palmoplantar keratoderma in east Asian populations

open access: yesThe Journal of Dermatology, Volume 52, Issue 3, Page 408-415, March 2025.
Abstract Nagashima‐type palmoplantar keratosis (NPPK) has been shown to represent a form of autosomal recessive palmoplantar keratosis due to biallelic pathological variants of SERPINB7, which encodes a serine protease inhibitor expressed in the epidermis.

Modelling the Distribution of Key Mediterranean Gorgonians: An Ensemble Approach to Unravel Broad‐Scale Patterns and Guide Conservation Efforts

open access: yesJournal of Biogeography, Volume 52, Issue 2, Page 392-407, February 2025.
ABSTRACT Aim Determining the species distribution and factors shaping it is a major challenge for conservation planning. Ecological niche models (ENMs) facilitate the comprehension of how environmental factors may influence species occurrence, providing spatially explicit information relevant to conservation.

Ecotoxic Trace Metals in Waters of "Mljet" National Park - Croatia

open access: yes, 2007
Spatial and temporal distribution of five ecotoxic trace metals (Cd, Cu, Pb, Zn and Hg) in waters of the “ Mljet” National park during two years period (2005 - 2006), was studied. Obtained concentrations of Cd, Cu, Pb and Zn are presented as dissolved and total fractions and mercury as total.

A marine benthos survey in the Jezera of the National park Mljet (Adriatic sea)

open access: yesPeriodicum biologorum, 1997
A lake-like inlet named Jezera is the most known phenomenon of the National park "Mljet", occupying the western part of this southernmost large island of the Adriatic Sea. The Jezera are virtually two depressions overfloaded by the sea in the postglacial period.

Trace metals in bivalves’ soft tissue from Mljet national park aquatorium, Croatia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Preliminary study of bivalves’ soft tissue exposure to trace metals (Cd, Pb, Cu and Zn) from water column in the Mljet NP, was done. Elevated trace metal concentrations in water column and bivalves were observed in semi -enclosed saline lakes. Determined concentrations were most likely from the natural source, taking into account hydrogeological ...

Danji i noćni leptiri zabilježeni na području NP Mljet – rezultati istraživanja iz 2006. godine

open access: yesNatura Croatica : Periodicum Musei Historiae Naturalis Croatici, 2009

Echinodermata in the littoral area of Mljet National Park

open access: yesPeriodicum biologorum, 2003
Complete inventarisation of the marine flora and fauna inhabiting Mljet National Park and mapping of benthic communities, have still not been made 35 years after the National Park was established. Due to that fact, the goal of this survey was to explore the echinofauna in the coastal area of Mljet National Park and to make a check-list of the species ...

TRACE METALS AND DISSOLVED ORGANIC CARBON IN WATER COLUMN OF AN ANCHIALINE OBJECT IN MLJET NATIONAL PARK - CROATIA [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Distribution of Cd, Pb, Cu, Zn and dissolved organic carbon (DOC) in water column of Bjejajka anchialine cave were studied seasonally (wet and dry periods). Metal amounts in water column were significantly higher compared to those found in seawater samples taken in near vicinity (100 m).
