Intermixing‐Driven Growth of Highly Oriented Indium Phosphide on Black Phosphorus

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates controlled intermixing and compound formation at the In/black phosphorus (BP) interface, leading to highly oriented InP formation. Comprehensive structural and electrical analyses reveal tunable bandgap behavior governed by competing BP thinning and charge‐transfer effects, underscoring the critical role of interfacial compound ...

Biometric Data and Bone Identification of Topmouth Gudgeon Pseudorasbora Parva and Sunbleak Leucaspius Delineatus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Identification and analysis of the size and composition of prey taken by piscivorous predators assists in the further understanding of ecology of piscivorous fauna (Mann & Beaumont 1980, Hansel et al. 1988, Copp & Roche 2003). Comprehensive evaluation of

SI‐bioATRP in Mesoporous Silica for Size‐Exclusion Driven Local Polymer Placement

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An enzyme‐catalyzed surface‐initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (SI‐bioATRP) of an anionic monomer within mesoporous silica particles, using hemoglobin as a catalyst, allows for controlling the location of the formed polymer via size‐exclusion effects between the nanopores and the biomacromolecules, thereby opening routes to functional ...

Astrocyte‐Guided Maturation of Neural Constructs in a Modular Biosynthetic Hydrogel for Biohybrid Neurotechnologies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A modular biosynthetic PVA–gelatin hydrogel crosslinked via visible‐light thiol‐ene chemistry is engineered as a coating for neural electrodes. Optimizing matrix composition and mechanical properties enables the hydrogel to support astrocytic populations that guide neural differentiation and functional maturation.

Gut throughput rate and satiation of the invasive Lionfish (Pterois volitans) and its potential impact on an endemic, endangered Labrid fish Halichoeres socialis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The invasive Indo-Pacific Lionfish Pterois volitans has been recognized as a severe threat to indigenous fish species on Caribbean reefs. Previous studies have identified an extensive variety of Caribbean fishes in the stomachs of lionfish, but few have ...

Broadband, Flexible, Skin‐Compatible Carbon Dots/Graphene Photodetectors for Wearable Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Broadband, flexible photodetectors integrating nitrogen‐rich carbon dots with single‐layer graphene on plastic substrates are demonstrated. A biocompatible chitosan–glycerol electrolyte enables efficient low‐voltage gating and on‐skin operation. The devices exhibit ultraviolet‐to‐near‐infrared response, mechanical robustness under bending, and verified

Checklist of the fishes of New Caledonia, and their distribution in the Southwest Pacific Ocean (Pisces) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
A checklist of the fishes of New Caledonia is presented. A total of 2328 species in 246 families have been recorded from the region. Eight of these species are not native, but have been introduced.

Real‐Time, Label‐Free Monitoring of Cell Behavior on a Bioelectronic Scaffold

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A bioelectronic nanofibrous scaffold is introduced that supports cell growth while enabling real‐time, label‐free monitoring of cellular behavior through impedance measurements. The system correlates electrical signals with cell viability and surface coverage, offering an integrated platform for studying dynamic biological processes and advancing next ...
