Directed deposition of silicon nanowires using neopentasilane as precursor and gold as catalyst [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In this work the applicability of neopentasilane (Si(SiH3)4) as a precursor for the formation of silicon nanowires by using gold nanoparticles as a catalyst has been explored.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Matter-mineral characteristics of technogene placers – potential sources of precious metals (on the example of the Nizhneselemdzhinsky gold-bearing node of Priamurye, Russia)

open access: yesGeoresursy, 2019
Over tens of years of mining and processing of ores and placers of gold in the world a huge amount of wastes originated in the form of spoil heaps and tailing dumps, in which the content of valuable components allow them to be considered a real ...

JFLEG: A Fluency Corpus and Benchmark for Grammatical Error Correction

open access: yes, 2017
We present a new parallel corpus, JHU FLuency-Extended GUG corpus (JFLEG) for developing and evaluating grammatical error correction (GEC). Unlike other corpora, it represents a broad range of language proficiency levels and uses holistic fluency edits ...

FGB1 and WSC3 are in planta-induced beta-glucan-binding fungal lectins with different functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In the root endophyte Serendipita indica, several lectin-like members of the expanded multigene family of WSC proteins are transcriptionally induced in planta and are potentially involved in beta-glucan remodeling at the fungal cell wall.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Enrichment of OntoSenseNet: Adding a Sense-annotated Telugu lexicon

open access: yes, 2018
The paper describes the enrichment of OntoSenseNet - a verb-centric lexical resource for Indian Languages. This resource contains a newly developed Telugu-Telugu dictionary. It is important because native speakers can better annotate the senses when both

Electric-Field Noise above a Thin Dielectric Layer on Metal Electrodes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The electric-field noise above a layered structure composed of a planar metal electrode covered by a thin dielectric is evaluated and it is found that the dielectric film considerably increases the noise level, in proportion to its thickness. Importantly,

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Mineralogical features, sequence, and formation conditions of polygenic-polychronous mineralization of the Verkhnetatarskaya gold-bearing area (Yenisei Ridge)

open access: yesРуды и металлы
Based on results of the field and laboratory studies within the Verkhnetatarskaya gold-bearing area (South Yenisei ore district), four sequentially formed mineral complexes have been distinguished and characterized: 1) gold-quartz (native gold (960 ± 20 ‰
