Glycaspis brimblecombei (Hem.: Psyllidae), la psilla dal follicolo bianco ceroso, altra specie aliena dell’Eucalipto rosso in Italia

open access: yes, 2011
: During 2010 in central and southern Italy (Campania, Basilicata and Latium), the invasive red gum lerp psyllid, Glycaspis brimblecombei Moore (Hemiptera: Psyllidae), has been recorder for the first time in Italy.

MagPiezo: A Magnetogenetic Platform for Remote Activation of Endogenous Piezo1 Channels in Endothelial Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MagPiezo enables wireless activation of endogenous Piezo1 channels without genetic modification using 19 nm magnetic nanoparticles and low‐intensity magnetic fields. It generates torque forces at the piconewton scale to trigger mechanotransduction in endothelial cells, standing as a novel platform to interrogate and manipulate Piezo1 activity in vitro.

Identification of three Iranian species of the genus <em>Rattus</em> (Rodentia, Muridae) using a PCR-RFLP technique on mitochondrial DNA

open access: yesHystrix, the Italian Journal of Mammalogy, 2009
<strong>Abstract</strong> Three species of the genus <em>Rattus</em> Fisher, 1803 have been reported from Iran: the brown rat (<em>R. norvegicus</em>), the black rat (<em>R.

Endogenous Fishing Mortalities: a State-Space Bioeconomic Model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
A methodology that endogenously determines catchability functions that link fi shing mortality with contemporaneous stock abundance is presented. We consider a stochastic age-structured model for a fishery composed by a number of fi shing units ...

Comparison of protocols for genomic DNA extraction from 'velame pimenta' (Croton linearifolius), a native species to the Caatinga, Brazil

open access: yes, 2013
The Caatinga biome occupies some 12% of the Brazilian territory, which is present in at least nine states. The species that constitute its biodiversity have the potential to be used as natural resources, among them are approximately 700 species of the ...

Shape‐Controlled Guanine Self‐Assemblies for Stable and Fast‐Ion Solid–Electrolyte Interphases in Sustainable Li Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The shape of guanine self‐assemblies is tuned by introducing alkyl (G8), fluoroalkyl (G8f), and oligoether (G8g) side chains into the G moiety. The scanning tunneling microscopy results and calculations show that the presence and type of the side chain strongly affect the G self‐assembly network.

Mapping the Cerebral Organoid Landscape: A Systematic Review of Preclinical 3D Models in Neuroscience

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Cerebral organoids are transforming brain research, yet the field remains fragmented. This comprehensive systematic review maps 738 studies published between 2014 and 2024 to uncover trends, gaps, and opportunities across neuroscience. Introducing OrganoidMap—an interactive, open‐access platform to explore and compare models—this work enables ...

Imperfect Replacement of Native Species by Non‐Native Species as Pollinators of Endemic Hawaiian Plants [PDF]

open access: yesConservation Biology, 2013
Abstract Native plant species that have lost their mutualist partners may require non‐native pollinators or seed dispersers to maintain reproduction. When natives are highly specialized, however, it appears doubtful that introduced generalists will partner effectively with them.

Spin‐Split Edge States in Metal‐Supported Graphene Nanoislands Obtained by CVD

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Combining STM measurements and ab‐initio calculations, we show that zig‐zag edges in graphene nanoislands grown on Ni(111) by CVD retrieve their spin‐polarized edge states after intercalation of a few monolayers of Au. ABSTRACT Spin‐split states localized on zigzag edges have been predicted for different free‐standing graphene nanostructures.
