Intrarenal Hemodynamic Mechanisms of Kidney Protection by Nonsteroidal Mineralocorticoid Receptor Antagonists [PDF]

open access: yesEndocrinology and Metabolism
Nonsteroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists (nsMRAs), especially finerenone, have shown significant cardiorenal benefits in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD).

Cilostazol in patients with heart failure and preserved ejection fraction—The CLIP‐HFpEF trial

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1437-1446, April 2025.
• Cilostazol is an oral PDE‐3 inhibitor that may have advantageous effects in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). • Cilostazol significantly improved short‐term heart failure‐related health status scores (KCCQ‐12) and NT‐proBNP levels when compared to placebo.

Flexible wearable electronics for cardiovascular monitoring from surface signals to deep physiological insights

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
This review organizes flexible wearable electronics for cardiovascular monitoring into four interconnected information layers: surface electrophysiology, hemodynamic sensing, vascular imaging, and biofluid biomarker analysis. This framework clarifies how electrical rhythm, vascular loading, structural and flow‐related features, and biochemical states ...

The Effects of Angiotensin Receptor Neprilysin Inhibitor on Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress in Doxorubicin‐Mediated Cardiomyopathy‐Associated Heart Failure Model in Rats

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT One of the most serious complications associated with the use of the chemotherapeutic agent doxorubicin (DOX) is cardiomyopathy. Although cardioprotective drugs such as angiotensin receptor‐neprilysin inhibitors (ARNI) are used to prevent cardiomyopathy in DOX patients, no studies have reported the relationship between ARNI and endoplasmic ...

Protective Effects of Riociguat Against Contrast‐Induced Nephropathy: An Experimental and Machine Learning‐Based Study in Rats

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Contrast‐induced nephropathy (CIN) is an important cause of acute kidney injury following exposure to iodinated contrast media, and effective preventive strategies remain limited. This study investigated the renoprotective effects of riociguat, a soluble guanylate cyclase stimulator, in an experimental rat model of CIN and explored machine ...

CONTRAST MEDIA-ASSOCIATED NEPHROTOXICITY AND THERAPEUTIC PERSPECTIVES

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Nephrology, 2019
Contrast associated nephropathy is an acute disturbance of renal function that follows the intravascular administration of radiocontrast agents. This syndrome is usually recognized one or more days following the radiocontrast agent administration and is ...

Identification and Discrimination of Sulfated and Unsulfated Gut‐Hormone Biomarkers in Human Serum by Nanopore

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
This study discriminates between sulfated and unsulfated cholecystokinin‐8 gut‐hormone forms at single‐molecule‐level resolution. Using an aerolysin nanopore embedded in a hybrid lipid‐polymer membrane, the system produces distinct electrical signatures enabling highly sensitive detection, even in 20% human serum.
