Skin aging and natural photoprotection
Micron, 2004Aging of skin is a continuous process that may be enhanced by sun exposure. Photoaging may provoke changes different from aging. Epidermal changes involve thinning of stratum spinosum and flattening of the dermo-epidermal junction. The senescent keratinocytes becomes resistant to apoptosis and may survive for a long time giving time for DNA and protein

Age at natural menopause and cognition
Maturitas, 2004To examine associations between age at natural menopause, childhood IQ and cognition at age 65 years. To determine if lower age at menopause partly mediates the effect of childhood IQ on cognition at age 65 years.Data were provided by a sub-cohort of women participating in a longitudinal study of brain ageing and health.

Mechanisms of Ageing and Development, 2000
Most of the aging theories are monistic in nature, they omit numerous key factors of senescence during the process of model creation. There are two main categories of these theories: program theories and error (mutation) ones. Program theories imply the existence of internal or external programs that determine the aging process ab ovo.

Natural anticoagulants, aging, and thromboembolism
Experimental Gerontology, 1998The normal aging process alters blood coagulation system in humans; this may be of great concern in the view of the known association of vascular disease with advancing age. The plasma concentration of several coagulation factors, namely fibrinogen, factor VII, factor VIII, factor IX, high molecular-weight kininogen, and prekallikrein, increase in ...

Natural Killer Cells, Aging, and Vaccination
2020Aging is associated with changes in the immune system. Both (innate and adaptive) arms of the immune system are involved. Natural killer (NK) cells are part of the innate immune system. They participate in host defense by eliminating cells that are virally infected, transformed, or senescent.

Forever Young or Ageing Naturally?
2017Age and ageing can be felt as negative occurrences. For monuments however, old age is traditionally considered to be a positive quality. Without a certain age the nomination of monument hardly applies. Ageing can be seen as the work of time, which has always been valued: ageing was sometimes even artificially induced in the past.

Abstract The most important image-stability information comes from natural aging. At Eastman Kodak Company we conduct long-term monitoring of photographic image changes at 24°C/40% RH, 26°C/60% RH, with a −23°C freezer check or control. Results for four products show good correlation between predictions from Arrhenius tests and trade experience.

AbstractSince 1951 untreated and commercially treated flours of different extraction rates have been stored under temperate conditions for eight‐month periods and periodically examined to ascertain the naturally occurring change in baking quality. Doughs were tested by physical methods and other data associated with flour testing obtained.
