Natural circulation in horizontal pipes

International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 1977
Abstract Natural circulation in a horizontal pipe with one end connected to the hot main pipe and one end closed can create a substantial temperature gradient axially and circumferentially. The temperature distribution around such a pipe can be predicted by solving the conservation equations inside the pipe and energy equation around the pipe.

Scaling of natural circulation in PWR systems

Nuclear Engineering and Design, 1991
Abstract This paper deals with the problem of scaling complex thermalhydraulic scenarios measured in experimental facilities which simulate Pressurized Water Reactor systems. Phenomena occurring during different phases of natural circulation between the core and the steam generators are considered. The experimental data obtained in some integral test

Scaling of Natural Circulation Boiling Systems

Heat Transfer: Volume 2, 2003
This paper lays out the procedure for arriving at the dimensions of a model facility to simulate a pressure tube type reactor. The Advanced Heavy Water Reactor, whose design is being evolved in the Indian scenario, is used as a basis for the evolution of the model facility.

Cycling Tolerance: Natural Circulation Vertical HRSGs

2003 International Joint Power Generation Conference, 2003
The US market is currently making a double jump in its HRSG requirements. Heretofore, HRSGs were used largely in industrial size cogen applications. According to the PURPA (Public Utility Regulatory Policy Act), public utilities were required to purchase that electric power generated in excess of the steam host’s needs.

Insights into natural circulation stability

2005
This lecture describes the meaning and importance of stability in fluid-dynamic systems, and mainly in natural circulation conditions. The student shall be able to perform the design of a natural circulation system accounting for stability, namely providing that the system is stable and, possibly, far from instability boundaries for the various ...

Natural Flow Geometry: ‘Pulse’ and ‘Circulation’

2017
Abstract geometries, whether Euclidean, non-Euclidean or fractal, cannot realistically describe the dynamic nature of life patterns. This is because they all depend on the unnatural dissociation of matter from space, as if matter and space are independent from each other.
