Thermovelocimetric Characterization of Liquid Metal Convection in a Rotating Slender Cylinder [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Rotating turbulent convection occurs ubiquitously in natural convective systems encompassing planetary cores, oceans, and atmospheres, as well as in many industrial applications. While the global heat and mass transfer of water-like rotating Rayleigh-B\'enard convection is well-documented, the characteristics of rotating convection in liquid metals ...

Convectons in unbalanced natural doubly diffusive convection [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Fluids subject to both thermal and compositional variations can undergo doubly diffusive convection when these properties both affect the fluid density and diffuse at different rates. In natural doubly diffusive convection, the gradients of temperature and salinity are aligned with each other and orthogonal to gravity.

Toward Green Processing of Perovskite Solar Cells: Protic Ionic Liquids Enable Water‐ and Alcohol‐Based MAPbI3 Precursors Inks for Slot‐Die Coating

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This work represents the first report of a water‐based green ink formulation for one‐step thin film coating of halide perovskite semiconductors at room‐temperature conditions by slot‐die coating, highlighting its potential for sustainable commercial manufacturing. Optimization of the solvent mixture of water (H2O) isopropanol (IPA) and the protic ionic
