A natural deep eutectic solvent (NADES) as potential excipient in collagen-based products

open access: yesInternational Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2020
Natural deep eutectic solvents (NADES) have previously shown antibacterial properties alone or in combination with photosensitizers and light. In this study, we investigated the behavior of the structural protein collagen in a NADES solution. A combination of collagen and NADES adds the unique wound healing properties of collagen to the potential ...

Natural Deep Eutectic Solvent (NADES) as Plasticizer for Bioplastic Film Fabrication. A Comparative Study

AIJR Proceedings, 2022
Incorporation of chitosan into the bioplastic film could improve its mechanical properties. However, aqueous acidic solution is required to dissolve the chitosan. The aim of the present work was to explore the potential use of acidic NADES as the plasticizer as well as a solvent for chitosan without the addition of aqueous acidic solution.
