Effect of TiO2 and ZnO Nanoparticles on the Performance of Dielectric Nanofluids Based on Vegetable Esters During Their Aging

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2020
Over the last few decades the insulating performance of transformer oils has been broadly studied under the point of view of nanotechnology, which tries to improve the insulating and heat dissipation performance of transformer oils by suspending ...

Performance and emissions of an agricultural diesel engine fuelled with different diesel and methyl ester blends [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This paper shows the results of an investigation carried out to assess the application of different fuels produced by blending diesel fuel with methyl ester obtained from mixture of 75% (v/v) sunflower oil and 25% (v/v) used cooking oil on a Kubota ...

Dielectric properties of natural ester, synthetic ester Midel 7131 and mineral oil Diala D [PDF]

open access: yes2012 IEEE International Power Modulator and High Voltage Conference (IPMHVC), 2012
The insulating liquids used in industrial applications are typically mineral oils. In recent years however, significant attention has been paid to alternative insulating fluids, including synthetic and natural ester liquids. In order to expand their practical applications, it is important to have detailed information on their dielectric properties.

Short peptides in minimalistic biocatalyst design [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We review recent developments in the use of short peptides in the design of minimalistic biocatalysts focusing on ester hydrolysis. A number of designed peptide nanostructures are shown to have (modest) catalytic activity. Five features are discussed and

Comparison of Ageing Characteristics of Superior Insulating Fluids With Mineral Oil for Power Transformer Application

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Natural Esters (NEs) with a high proportion of Unsaturated Fatty Acids (UFAs) were used in this research. A Superior Insulating Fluid (SIF) is prepared by blending NEs like Baobab Oil (BAO) and Mongongo Oil (MGO) with a pure dielectric like Kerosene (KER)

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

DC breakdown characteristics and charges accumulation behaviour of thermally upgraded paper aged in natural ester

open access: yesIET Science, Measurement & Technology, 2021
Considering that the working temperature is much higher in high‐voltage direct‐current (HVDC) convert transformers than in conventional AC transformers, the combination of thermally upgraded paper and natural ester might be a better choice to withstand ...
