SPONTANEOUS INFECTION OF HUNGRY IXODID TICKS (IXODIDAE) WITH NATURAL-FOCAL INFECTION AGENTS IN THE TOMSK REGION

open access: yesCONCEPTUAL AND APPLIED ASPECTS OF INVERTEBRATE SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH AND BIOLOGICAL EDUCATION, 2020
The article presents data on infection of hungry ticks caught in natural biotopes of Tomsk region in spring-summer seasons 2017-2019. In ticks of Ixodes and Dermacentor genera the presence of pathogens of natural-focal diseases is established: CE virus, borrelia, ehrlichias, anaplasm, tularemia.

Nicotinamide N‐methyltransferase promotes drug resistance in lung cancer, as revealed by nascent proteomic profiling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
AZD9291 has shown promise in targeted cancer therapy but is limited by resistance. In this study, we employed metabolic labeling and LC–MS/MS to profile time‐resolved nascent protein perturbations, allowing dynamic tracking of drug‐responsive proteins. We demonstrated that increased NNMT expression is associated with drug resistance, highlighting NNMT ...

Investigating the cell of origin and novel molecular targets in Merkel cell carcinoma: a historic misnomer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study indicates that Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) does not originate from Merkel cells, and identifies gene, protein & cellular expression of immune‐linked and neuroendocrine markers in primary and metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) tumor samples, linked to Merkel cell polyomavirus (MCPyV) status, with enrichment of B‐cell and other immune cell

Noninfectious retrovirus particles drive the APOBEC3/Rfv3 dependent neutralizing antibody response. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Members of the APOBEC3 family of deoxycytidine deaminases counteract a broad range of retroviruses in vitro through an indirect mechanism that requires virion incorporation and inhibition of reverse transcription and/or hypermutation of minus strand ...

EPIDEMIOLOGICAL FEATURES OF NATURAL FOCAL INFECTIONS IN THE STAVROPOL REGION IN 2015

open access: yesЗДОРОВЬЕ НАСЕЛЕНИЯ И СРЕДА ОБИТАНИЯ - ЗНиСО / PUBLIC HEALTH AND LIFE ENVIRONMENT, 2017
The features of epidemic manifestations of natural focal infectious diseases in the Stavropol region in 2015 are presented. The most of epidemiological complications were observed on the «tick-borne» infections: Сrimean-Сongo hemorrhagic fever and Lyme borreliosis, the cases of disease of them are registered every year.

Screening for lung cancer: A systematic review of overdiagnosis and its implications

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low‐dose computed tomography (CT) screening for lung cancer may increase overdiagnosis compared to no screening, though the risk is likely low versus chest X‐ray. Our review of 8 trials (84 660 participants) shows added costs. Further research with strict adherence to modern nodule management strategies may help determine the extent to which ...
