Numerical and experimental investigation of flow characteristics in natural gas pipe

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2023
To measure the natural gas flow in the natural gas pipeline, a flow measurement method based on a laser Doppler velocimeter (LDV) is proposed, and the flow field in the natural gas pipeline is accurately measured.

Remote sensing of methane leakage from natural gas and petroleum systems revisited

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2020
. The switch from the use of coal to natural gas or oil for energy generation potentially reduces greenhouse gas emissions and thus the impact on global warming and climate change because of the higher energy creation per CO2 molecule emitted.

State of the Art of Hydrogen Production via Pyrolysis of Natural Gas

open access: yes, 2020
Fossil fuels have to be substituted by climate neutral fuels to contribute to CO2 reduction in the future energy system. Pyrolysis of natural gas is a well‐known technical process applied for production of, e. g., carbon black.

The effect of CO2-enriched water salinity on enhancing oil recovery and its potential formation damage: an experimental study on shaly sandstone reservoirs

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology, 2020
Many experimental investigations on carbonated water injection (CWI) have shown an increase in oil recovery which CWI is defined as the process of injecting CO2-saturated water in oil reservoirs as a displacing fluid.

Synthesis of bimannich base with thiazole and its corrosion inhibition effect on H2S and CO2 at high temperature

open access: yesBMC Chemistry, 2021
A bimannich-based TZBM containing a thiazole ring was obtained by synthesis of mannich bases. TZBM featured a stable structure at 260 °C, and corrosion inhibition effect on carbon steel in a gas–liquid environment with Cl− + H2S + CO2 at 180 °C.

Study on the Viscosity Optimization of Polymer Solutions in a Heavy Oil Reservoir Based on Process Simulation

open access: yesEnergies, 2022
Polymer flooding has been proved by many scholars for use in heavy oil reservoirs. However, due to mobility control effects and injectivity, selecting the appropriate solution viscosity is essential.

Carbon footprint of global natural gas supplies to China

open access: yesNature Communications, 2020
As natural gas demand surges in China, driven by the coal-to-gas switching policy, widespread attention is focused on its impacts on global gas supply-demand rebalance and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Here, for the first time, we estimate well-to-city-
