Toward Fast Proton Shuttling in Acidic Oxygen Evolution Reaction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review establishes proton transfer dynamics as a descriptor governing acidic OER activity, moving beyond the kinetic constraints derived from the proton coupled electron transfer. We discuss how deprotonation governs classical mechanisms, including adsorbate evolution mechanism (AEM), lattice oxygen mechanism (LOM) and oxide path mechanism (OPM ...

Study of the Combustion Characteristics of a Compression Ignition Engine Fueled with a Biogas–Hydrogen Mixture and Biodiesel

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
Increasing the use of renewable energy sources is essential to reduce the use of fossil fuels in internal combustion engines and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. An experimental and numerical simulation study of the combustion process of a compression

Effects of Pilot Oil Injection Timing on Combustion, Covariance and Knocking of a Natural Gas–Diesel Duel-Fuel Low-Speed Engine

open access: yesPolish Maritime Research
Dual-fuel engines, which are powered by natural gas while using a small amount of diesel for ignition, have become an attractive option in the marine sector due to their fuel flexibility and relatively good emission characteristics.

Auto-Ignition and Flame Stabilization of Hydrogen / Natural Gas / Nitrogen Jets in a Vitiated Cross-Flow at Elevated Pressure

open access: yes, 2013
The influence of natural gas (NG) on the auto-ignition behavior of hydrogen (H2)/nitrogen (N2) fuel jets injected into a vitiated cross-flow was studied at conditions relevant for practical combustion systems (p = 15 bar, Tcross-flow = 1173 K).

Multifunctional Gold Nanocluster‐Based PROTAC System for Targeted Degradation of Phosphorylated Tau and Modulation of Neuroinflammation in Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present a novel proteolysis‐targeting chimera (PROTAC) system conjugated to lipoic acid gold nanoclusters (PLANC), designed to degrade pTau, regulate inflammatory signaling, and effectively traverse the blood‐brain barrier (BBB). PLANC degraded pTau at various phosphorylation sites, with mechanistic studies confirming proteasome‐mediated degradation

Bioinspired Mechanically Robust Organic–Inorganic Hybridized Bio‐Adhesives With up to 50% Inorganic Components by Bi‐Continuous Phase Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A robust plant protein adhesive was prepared by fabricating a bi‐continuous organic–inorganic hybrid structure. Compared with traditional organic–inorganic hybrid adhesives, the addition amount of inorganic phase is increased from 0.2%–3.0% to 50%, and the strength and toughness are increased by 6 and 121 times, respectively.

Electrocapillary Modulated Interfacial Tension Amplifies Liquid Metal Transduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presented an electrocapillary‐enhanced magnetohydrodynamic pumping strategy that harnesses the Lorentz force and interfacial tension modulation of liquid metal droplets to achieve amplified fluidic power. The system enabled low‐voltage, self‐oscillating fluidic transduction with enhanced pressure and flow generation, supporting compact ...

Natural Gas Exploitation in West China

open access: yes, 2002
This paper reviews China's and foreign natural gas programs and researches on the natural gas engines. The flame propagation speed of natural gas is much lower than that of liquid fuel in engine combustion chamber, so the combustion system of gas engine
