Short overview of early developments of the Hardy Cross type methods for computation of flow distribution in pipe networks [PDF]
Hardy Cross originally proposed a method for analysis of flow in networks of conduits or conductors in 1936. His method was the first really useful engineering method in the field of pipe network calculation. Only electrical analogs of hydraulic networks

We present a fully automated Bayesian optimization (BO) protocol for the parameterization of nonbonded interactions in coarse‐grain CG force fields (BACH). Using experimental thermophysical data, we apply the protocol to a broad range of liquids, spanning linear, branched, and unsaturated hydrocarbons, esters, triglycerides, and water.

Robustness of Trans-European Gas Networks
Here we uncover the load and fault-tolerant backbones of the trans-European gas pipeline network. Combining topological data with information on inter-country flows, we estimate the global load of the network and its tolerance to failures. To do this, we

A goal programming methodology for multiobjective optimization of distributed energy hubs operation [PDF]
This paper addresses the problem of optimal energy flow management in multicarrier energy networks in the presence of interconnected energy hubs. The overall problem is here formalized by a nonlinear constrained multiobjective optimization problem and ...

Security of pipelines in natural gas distribution network
Abstract A large number of gas facilities across the territory of Slovak Republic could be the target of criminal actions, a lot of them could be easily sabotaged. These facilities are usually located in isolated places (away from the towns and cities), thus making them subject to attacks and violent actions.

This study shows that stem‐like cells isolated from breast cancer brain metastases drive the spread and growth of tumors in the brain. Among them, a highly adhesive subgroup initiates metastasis and resists many drugs. By closely reflecting patient tumors, these models help identify new targets and improve the development of effective treatments ...

Inversion model of stress state reconstruction for geological hazard pipelines based on digital twin
Due to the frequent occurrence of geological disasters worldwide, which pose a serious threat to infrastructure such as pipelines, accurately assessing the stress state of pipelines has become an urgent issue to be addressed. To improve the real-time and
