Natural H2 Transfer in Soil: Insights from Soil Gas Measurements at Varying Depths

open access: yesGeosciences
The exploration of natural H2 is beginning in several countries. One of the most widely used methods for detecting promising areas is to measure the H2 percentage of the air contained in soils. All data show temporal and spatial variabilities.

Computational fluid dynamic analysis of hydrogen‐injected natural gas for mixing and transportation behaviors in pipeline structures

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering, 2023
The transportation of hydrogen is a weak link in the large‐scale development of the hydrogen energy industry. Injecting hydrogen into the natural gas pipeline network for transportation is an efficient way to achieve the large‐scale, long‐distance, and ...

An Investigation into the Volumetric Flow Rate Requirement of Hydrogen Transportation in Existing Natural Gas Pipelines and Its Safety Implications

open access: yesGases, 2021
As an alternative to the construction of new infrastructure, repurposing existing natural gas pipelines for hydrogen transportation has been identified as a low-cost strategy for substituting natural gas with hydrogen in the wake of the energy transition.

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Radiolysis and Fe‐Biotite Alteration: Questioning the Origin of H2‐Bearing Fluid Inclusions in the Yorke Peninsula Granites, South Australia

open access: yesGeochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems
Multiple drillings in the Yorke Peninsula, South Australia, recently confirmed the presence of natural hydrogen (H2) in shallow sedimentary units. While radiolysis and Fe‐oxidation in the basement are potential generation mechanisms, their respective ...

Research progress on pipeline transportation technology of hydrogen-mixed natural gas

open access: yesYou-qi chuyun, 2021
Hydrogen energy is recognized as a clean energy, and mixing hydrogen into natural gas pipeline is an effective way to transport hydrogen on a large scale. However, as the physical properties of hydrogen vary greatly from those of natural gas, the quality

Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.
