Light custodians in natural composite Higgs models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We present a class of composite Higgs models arising from a warped extra dimension that can satisfy all the electroweak precision tests in a significant portion of their parameter space.

Naturally light scalars [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 1996
I argue that in certain chiral gauge theories composite scalars associated with chiral symmetry breaking can be light (i.e. lighter than naive scaling from QCD would suggest) without any fine-tuning. These scalars will be even lighter in chiral gauge theories that produce chiral symmetry breaking without confinement.

Understorey plant community and light availability in conifer plantations and natural hardwood forests in Taiwan [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Questions: What are the effects of replacing mixed species natural forests with Cryptomeria japonica plantations on understorey plant functional and species diversity?

Mobile Deep Learning System That Calculates UVI Using Illuminance Value of User’s Location

open access: yesSensors, 2021
Ultraviolet rays are closely related with human health and, recently, optimum exposure to the UV rays has been recommended, with growing importance being placed on correct UV information. However, many countries provide UV information services at a local

A low-cost hyperspectral scanner for natural imaging and the study of animal colour vision above and under water [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Hyperspectral imaging is a widely used technology for industrial and scientific purposes, but the high cost and large size of commercial setups have made them impractical for most basic research.

The light requirements for growth and photosynthesis in seagrasses with emphasis on Texas estuaries : a literature survey [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
During the last 20 years, seagrass communities throughout the world have experienced decreased productivity and distribution. These declines have often been attributed to decreased water transparency as a result of turbidity or shading by epiphytic algae.

Quantization of the Superstring with Manifest U(5) Super-Poincare Invariance [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The superstring is quantized in a manner which manifestly preserves a U(5) subgroup of the (Wick-rotated) ten-dimensional super-Poincar\'e invariance. This description of the superstring contains critical N=2 worldsheet superconformal invariance and is a

Electromagnetic Properties for Arbitrary Spin Particles: Part 2 $-$ Natural Moments and Transverse Charge Densities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In a set of two papers, we propose to study an old-standing problem, namely the electromagnetic interaction for particles of arbitrary spin. Based on the assumption that light-cone helicity at tree level and $Q^2=0$ should be conserved non-trivially by ...

Natural vs. Artificial Light: A Study on the Influence of Light Source on Chlorophyll Content and Photosynthetic Rates on Indoor Plants

open access: yesBuildings, 2023
Indoor landscaping is an environmentally friendly approach that enriches the environment and fosters productivity and comfort for occupants. The practice of incorporating plants into interior spaces requires meticulous care to ensure healthy growth and ...

The Functional Significance of Black-Pigmented Leaves: Photosynthesis, Photoprotection and Productivity in Ophiopogon planiscapus ‘Nigrescens’ [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Black pigmented leaves are common among horticultural cultivars, yet are extremely rare across natural plant populations. We hypothesised that black pigmentation would disadvantage a plant by reducing photosynthesis and therefore shoot productivity, but ...
