Evaluation of major feed resources in crop-livestock mixed farming systems, southern Ethiopia: Indigenous knowledge versus laboratory analysis results

open access: yesJournal of Agriculture and Rural Development in the Tropics and Subtropics, 2015
Evaluation of major feed resources was conducted in four crop-livestock mixed farming systems of central southern Ethiopia, with 90 farmers, selected using multi-stage purposive and random sampling methods.

Seasonal prevalence, body condition score and risk factors of bovine fasciolosis in South Africa

open access: yesVeterinary and Animal Science, 2017
Fasciolosis is an important zoonotic disease that is responsible for a significant loss in food resource and animal productivity. The objectives of this study were to determine the seasonal prevalence and risk factors associated with Fasciola infection ...

Integrated Lead/Iodine Management for Sustainable Perovskite Solar Modules

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Perovskite solar modules face environmental risks from lead and iodine leakage. A dual‐function adsorbent—porphyrin‐modified whitlockite nanocomposites—effectively captures iodine and Pb2+, even under severe damage. Combined with a semi‐closed recycling process, it recovers 96.9% high‐purity PbI2 and reduces residual Pb2+ to <10 ppb, offering an ...

A stochastic spreadsheet model analysing investment options for the development of pasture on beef cattle farms : a dissertation submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master in Applied Science at Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
The decision to proceed with farm development to increase animal production is complex. Standalone personal computer software to study either the financial or physical aspects of farm development is available, but models which integrate these components ...

Potentials to differentiate milk composition by different feeding strategies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
To investigate the effect of the dietary intake of the cow on milk composition, bulk-tank milk was collected on 5 occasions from conventional (n = 15) and organic (n = 10) farms in Denmark and on 4 occasions from low-input nonorganic farms in the United ...

Aggregation‐Induced Emission Molecular Design for Mitigating Non‐Radiative Energy Loss in Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Aggregation‐induced emission strategy is first used to overcome aggregation‐caused quenching in Y‐series acceptors. By integrating tetraphenylethylene, the dTPE exhibits three‐fold PLQY enhancement and significantly suppressed non‐radiative energy loss. An ultra‐low Eloss of 0.130 eV and a record VOC of 0.93 V are achieved, resulting in a PCE over 20.5%

Modelling of water balance and nitrogen cycle in vegetative filter strips [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The retention of nutrients by 10-m-wide grass buffers and buffers under natural vegetation has been studied over 10 years in Jokioinen in southwestern Finland. The results have been compared with those from 70-m-long plots without buffers. Grass was sown

Scalable Fabrication of High‐Efficiency Thin‐Film Perovskite Solar Cells in Air via Polymer‐Mediated Synthesis of α‐FAPbI3 Microcrystals

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We report a scalable strategy using PPG‐coated α‐FAPbI3 microcrystals that may be processed in air and undergo controlled redissolution to form highly oriented, defect‐suppressed perovskite films. The PSCs derived from these films deliver a PCE of 26.5% and exhibit enhanced stability, demonstrating potential for industrial large‐scale perovskite ...
