Natural Product Reports, 2006China is a country rich in plants and microbe species that cultivate a remarkable diversity of secondary metabolites. Such products include 'qinghaosu' (artemisinin) and huperzine A, which are used in the treatment of malaria and Alzheimer's disease, respectively.

Structure and Synthesis in Natural Product Chemistry [PDF]
A number of marine metabolites have been isolated from the ascidian L. bistratum. These include the bistramide series of compounds (bistramides A-K). Bistramide A had been previously isolated and characterised, however, while the structural connectivity had been established, the relative and absolute stereochemistry was unclear.
