The natural transformations with fuzzified commutativity
2019 IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems (FUZZ-IEEE), 2019The natural transformation forms one of the most abstract mapping that is considered in category theory. In fact, it forms a unique transformation between the so-called functors, which operate between categories. The natural transformations are determined by the appropriate commutativity of their diagrams and their general form may be predicted by the ...

Nature positive/Design for transformation
2023Abstract: The Track Nature Positive/Design for Transformation started off with a few big questions: Even if we are technologically able to do so, are we still allowed to create our designed environment as we see fit? How can we navigate through sustainable transitions and within planetary boundaries?

Interpretations of human, plant and animal forms define the sculptures and drawings of MargotMcMahon. Humans, plants and animals symbolizing lifeforms may be fused into organic interpretations in bronze, ciment Fondu, aluminum, stone or wood. These sculptural symbols, in natural materials, emphasize the importance of interdependent and unique evolved ...

On the Nature of Competence of Transformable Streptococci
Journal of General Microbiology, 1963SUMMARY Transformable streptococci produce an exocellular factor provoking competence under certain conditions. Non-competent cultures become competent upon addition of this factor. The kinetics of conversion is concomitant with an enzymic reaction; the process is time and temperature dependent and the factor itself is heat sensitive. The action of the

Natural transformation in river epilithon
Applied and Environmental Microbiology, 1996Natural transformation was demonstrated in unenclosed experiments incubated in river epilithon. Strains of Acinetobacter calcoaceticus were transformed to prototrophy by either free DNA (lysates) or live donor cells. The sources of transforming DNA and recipient culture were immobilized on filters, secured to stones, and incubated midstream in the ...

Natural Transformation in Escherichia coli
2019Escherichia coli is well known for its ability to undergo artificial transformation. This bacterium is not generally recognized as naturally transformable. However, several past studies have demonstrated that laboratory and natural strains of E. coli can express modest natural competence under feasible environmental conditions.

Style transformation in natural languages
Frontiers of Computer Science in China, 2008To express semantic knowledge of natural languages accurately and unify the processing of languages, the style transformation of natural languages is discussed in an all-round way. The discussion covers purpose, voice, modal, tense, narrow sense of style, number and case.

Natural Transformation of Oral Streptococci
2010Natural transformation is found in most groups of oral streptococci, including the mitis, the anginosus, and the mutans groups. This ability has been applied as a powerful tool to explore streptococcal gene functions and regulatory pathways, particularly in Streptococcus mutans and Streptococcus gordonii.

Abstract Given a parallel pair of functors F, G: A→B, a natural transformation from F to G is a family of arrows vA: FA→ GA, one for each object A of A, such that for every arrow f: A→ A' of A the following square commutes: Suppose that A is Cartesian closed and take any object A of A.

An investigation of the nature of parameterization for the Hough transform
Pattern Recognition, 1996A novel parameterization method for the Hough transform is reported. Instead of the conventional non-parametric form, the parametric form is used and copies of the transformed shape are plotted on two-dimensional slices of the Hough space. It is shown that the corresponding parameterization has uniform precision with respect to translation, and cancels
